My journey with Makeupyourpower Makeup and Tarot began over five years ago in January 2020. While my psychic mediumship readings began in 2015 when I had my spiritual awakening. I started by offering on-site makeup services for all occasions, driven by a passion for enhancing beauty and confidence. Alongside this, I embraced my psychic medium abilities to provide spiritual guidance and support, helping individuals connect with loved ones who have crossed over. My goal has always been to empower people to recognize their own strength and potential, guiding them towards their highest capabilities and helping them navigate their current paths.

In addition to makeup and spiritual guidance, I offer couple readings and astrological readings, focusing on compatibility and love. These services allow me to help individuals and couples understand their relationships on a deeper level, fostering harmony and connection. By exploring astrological insights, I guide clients in discovering how their stars align and how they can nurture their bonds.

Over a year ago, I took a significant step by opening my first studio in downtown Kalamazoo, located in the Park Trades Center. This space was designed to be an enlightened, private, and beautiful sanctuary where clients can receive makeup services and psychic readings in a safe and supportive environment.

My own healing and recovery journey underscored the importance of creating a welcoming space for those who find me through my website or social media platforms. I wanted to offer a haven where individuals could feel comfortable sharing their stories and exploring their inner power. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help others discover their unique strengths, beauty, and the love that surrounds them.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey with Makeupyourpower Makeup and Tarot has certainly had its challenges, and it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced a learning curve, particularly in establishing boundaries that ensured the well-being of both my clients and myself. Seeking support and guidance from fellow women entrepreneurs was invaluable in navigating these early challenges.

In the beginning, I was deeply focused on empowerment through my makeup services, but I also felt the pressure of needing financial stability for my family. This sometimes led to burnout, as I struggled to balance my passion with practical needs. I learned that not all jobs, money, and people are beneficial for me. It became clear that not all money is good money, and I had to differentiate between fulfilling my purpose and the external pressure to be a “yes girl.” This realization was crucial as I often found myself saying yes to everything, sometimes to my own detriment.

There were moments when I had to step back and recalibrate, prioritizing my health, wellness, and family. Over the past year, I’ve recognized the importance of releasing habits that contributed to my burnout. Listening to my body and seeking therapy were crucial steps in realigning myself with my gifts, abilities, and purpose. This internal journey of healing became a priority, allowing me to return to my clientele with renewed energy and the same level of support and nourishment that I strive to provide.

These experiences have taught me the value of self-care and the importance of maintaining a balance between personal well-being and professional commitments. By learning to say no when necessary, I’ve found a more balanced approach that honors both my purpose and my well-being. These lessons have ultimately strengthened my ability to empower others, as I continue to grow and learn along the way.

I’m thrilled to share more about my work with Makeupyourpower Makeup and Tarot. At the heart of what I do is the ability to help people see the power within themselves. I specialize in guiding individuals to view their lives through a more positive and empowering lens, especially when it comes to transforming painful life experiences into sources of strength and purpose. I believe that our greatest potential often lies within the challenges we’ve faced, and I’m passionate about helping others tap into that potential.

What sets me apart from others is my unwavering commitment to non-judgment and my ability to truly see people for who they can become, even if they haven’t yet recognized it themselves. While I do provide makeup services, my work goes beyond the surface. Makeup can either serve as a mask or enhance the beauty that already exists within. My focus is on creating a safe space for clients, allowing them to unleash what they need from within to free themselves from internal chains.

I’m most proud of my ability to empower others and guide them toward self-discovery and healing. I don’t actively seek out clients; instead, I trust that those who are in need of what I offer will find me. This approach has allowed me to maintain a beautiful balance between my life and work, as I continue to provide a sanctuary for those seeking to uncover their true potential.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The Covid-19 crisis was a pivotal time for many, and it taught me some invaluable lessons. Starting my own business during the pandemic made me realize that life doesn’t need to come to a halt because of external circumstances. Instead, it became a catalyst for me to pursue what truly fuels my passion, rather than conforming to the traditional 9-to-5 work model simply because society dictates it.

For a long time, I lived in a world that suggested creatives couldn’t thrive economically or socially. While I may not be financially wealthy, I’ve discovered immense purpose, love, happiness, and freedom in working for myself. This journey has allowed me to maintain a steady lifestyle for my family and me, all while living more intentionally and purposefully.

I strive daily to share these insights with those around me, or anyone seeking emotional fulfillment and support. It’s important to me that people know they don’t have to feel trapped in a hamster wheel, merely scraping by in life. The pandemic reinforced the idea that pursuing one’s passion and living authentically can lead to a more fulfilling and enriched life.
