Today we’d like to introduce you to Nasia Brewer.
Hi Nasia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Began on this path through the encouragement of my mom. I use to always draw a lot on my iPad & she would encourage me to share my skills with others & I just did not think it was something people would be interred in — but I decided to take her word for it& I began posting on my social media accounts & people were surely enough interested. Over time people would request more challenging things and eventually, Hannah Dee asked me to make a logo for her & I had no idea what to charge, how long to tell her it would take, or anything but I created something that I had no idea I had in me & ever since then I’ve been growing my skills through constantly working & learning. I’ve been certified twice in Adobe Illustrator. I am now a master of that program & I am able to CONFIDENTLY teach courses on learning not only the basics of graphic design but mastering a world-renowned program. Now I am growing a graphic design & branding company from the ground up. Not only do I design for amazing businesses & brands but I spend a lot more of my time educating people on all that I’ve learned over the years. What means the most to me in my business is being sure that people that look like me understand that all opportunities are ours IN FULL all we need is the knowledge & etiquette for each level life hands us. So, it’s my duty to constantly share knowledge & enlighten others. From offering courses, sessions for branding, and writing information literature that relates to my expertise. I’ve been blessed with some amazing opportunities working with some super-established brands like The Progressor Brand and some up-and-coming businesses like FAB BUNDLES, Chef V. Cakes, and Imany and Company.
In addition to my graphic design and branding company, Nasia. the Creator – I have a newly established self-care and fitness brand called “WOMAN self-care x fitness with Nasia” this is truly a passion project for me and was the most amazing to create. This group will focus on basking in being powerful beautiful women. we will encourage each other’s care & meet fitness goals together. Everything is beginner-friendly. I wanted to have a group of my own that catered to how I care for myself. I love myself some days too much & it translates beautifully into the love I get from the world around me. I want to share w/ women like me healthy living habits, healthy eating, & overall mental & physical upkeep. Later in the year, I will be dropping my podcast “An Actual Exchange” a lot of people know about it and are anticipating it, so that’s something I can’t want to release.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can’t say that it’s been a smooth road but it’s been a lot of fun and learning! I started my business a bit before the pandemic and it really took off during it. Currently, I am pivoting my business to work more on the back end for brands. I am interested in systems and showing business owners how to launch businesses, services, and products and maintain automated backends. This has been a huge transition for my brand but nonetheless a positive and needed one.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I would out the gate say I am a woman that wears many hats but I have been honing in more on being an assistant on the back end. I’ve been assisting brands with developing plans for content, maintaining email + SMS systems, and developing mentorships, courses, and other sources of passive income. I am mostly known for my extensive knowledge, anything I talk about I know it in-depth. I am a master communicator and very adept in helping people with understanding things that may seem complex to them. I am most proud of the sustainability that Nasia, the Creator has provided for me. I am so thankful to be free as a woman to learn and grow at the pace that is good for me. I believe what sets me apart from others is that I am really dedicated to being sure that people are learning more from me than anything. I do understand that in most ways I am a service provider but it means a lot to me to be sure that people that look like me understand that all opportunities are ours IN FULL all we need is the knowledge & etiquette for each level of life hands us. So, it’s my duty to constantly share knowledge & enlighten others.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I think my favorite childhood memory that I can think of right now would have to be laundry day at Houdini’s Laundromat with my mother. It was always fun to see different people and families having a good time washing and folding clothes. I know it seems so simple but there were many kids playing and enjoying a space that wasn’t home, there was always something good on the television, it was just an amazing 90s energy I can never forget. I thank my mom for always being a unique and nurturing woman, I think any memory I could have come up with would have included her.
