Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Hovansian.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Started my business in 2020 in February. March 15th, 2020 we were faced with a life-changing event and probably not the most ideal time to launch a newly started business. I took a chance, kept faith and stood by my goal, and ended up pushing the branding launch anyway. Don’t bend won’t fold came to the table as an idea and an inside joke between me and a good friend. From that point slowly took the joke and started to create something with it. We have been dealt a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as the intensity of the pandemic came along. With that being said I didn’t know what the outcome would be. I stuck to my guns, took the time we had in the house, and put a lot of work ideas and content into the business. not only leading the brand into multi genres of fashion but also a lifestyle brand that lives up to the name DBWF. I operate solely as the owner and operator with no team or having to hire help. I’ve invested all my own money and what profits that have been made back into the business. I’ve promoted and marketed myself organically with no paid promo or help from any other investors. Moments like these and the opportunity to speak with you about this shows that when you stick to hard work, good ethic, adapting, and overcoming anything is possible.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all as I said Covid and trying to launch this business the right way has been the biggest obstacle. Some days I’ve wanted to throw in the towel and give it all up. I have learned through trial and error that I’m not here to sell or prove anything to anyone but what I am here to do is bring people whom are close to me family and friends including those I don’t even know a lifestyle slogan that can be the drive for life, in general, I pride myself on the name ‘cause it stands true to any circumstance or anything we really face in day-to-day life. This is my creativity and I’m humbled in knowing that people not only enjoy the output but they can also relate. It’s special to me when people share their stories on how my brand has impacted them in a positive manner. I want to see everyone win and everyone deserves chances. My purpose for those around me is to put them in a position to better themselves and make money off of marketing their abilities. I also have my hand in other investments and business ventures. I also run a full music production studio where I produce, mix, record, and engineer for local musical talents
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Jack of all trades master of none. I’m my normal working day I’m an automotive engineer and been so since 2008. In my hobbies and free time, I enjoy my kids and family. Music production and art or all kinds. I’m most proud of my accomplishments and ability to run two business simultaneous and keeping rooted here in Michigan through this process of this pandemic we have been faced with. Again, I took my crafts more seriously in a time that we’ve all been dealt some crazy life changes
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Anything is possible. Dreams can become reality. Hard work and resilience to any situation will get you through. Like anything nothing is handed to use we gotta go out and get it. A lot of sacrifice. No, it will not be easy when you first get your foot in as well all go through trial and tribulation. But I’d you keep the foot on the gas and don’t let off the brakes slow and steady wins this marathon as nothing in life should be a race
