Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryson Steen.
Hi Bryson, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been creative growing up, whether it was making videos, storytelling, or just finding ways to express myself. For a while I focused on sports, but acting always stayed with me. Over time I really leaned into it, stayed consistent, kept learning, and trusted the process. I’m still growing, but every step has helped shape who I am as an artist and person.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been perfect, but I think every challenge teaches you something. Whether it was dealing with setbacks, hearing no while putting your everything in self-tapes (auditions), or figuring things out while growing, it taught me patience and discipline. I try to focus on staying grounded, improving, and trusting that what is meant for me will come with time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actor, model and creative storyteller. I work across film, commercials, and independent projects, and I’m really drawn to roles that let me bring something honest, emotional, and grounded to the screen. I care about storytelling that feels real and connects with people in a natural way, not just performance for the sake of it.
I’ve been fortunate to be part of a range of creative work from films and campaigns to collaborative projects behind the scenes. A lot of my journey has been about building consistency, staying ready, and continuing to grow with every opportunity that comes my way. Recently, I have a film I’ve been blessed to have a supporting role in, Basement People, directed by the award-winning director, Christine Swanson. Basement People’s been moving through the film festival circuit, including screenings at the Dayton Black Women’s Film Festival, the American Black Film Festival 30th Anniversary 2026 (Spotlight Screening) and is currently headed to festivals in Boston and Oaks Bluff Massachusetts, Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit and more! It’s truly been a meaningful experience being part of that creative space with the incredible cast and crew.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve stayed locked in on my craft and continued to evolve without losing why I started. Every set, every audition, every project teaches me something new, and I carry that forward.
What sets me apart I believe is that I don’t just show up as an actor. I understand the creative process as a whole. I pay attention to story, tone, and intention, and I try to bring a grounded, collaborative energy to everything I’m part of. For me, it’s about building work that feels intentional and real, not just visible.
Any big plans?
For the future, I’m really focused on continuing to build momentum and staying consistent with work that challenges me. I have a feature film, Cuttlefish, where I’m in a leading role, directed by Arman Taheri, set to release in winter 2026, and I’m excited to see that project come to life and if it hits festivals as well, just being prepared and ready to travel with that. At the same time, I’m continuing to stay active on the festival circuit with Basement People, directed by Christine Swanson, and attending most festivals to meet, connect and have deep, meaningful and fulfilling conversations with the amazing people, creatives, filmmakers, actors etc who come out to experience the film with us.
Moving forward, I’m looking to step more into television and network TV roles, while also continuing to build out my film work and take on more features that really speak to me creatively. Outside of acting, I’m also staying active with commercial work and modeling, and I plan to keep growing in those spaces as opportunities come in.
Overall, I’m just focused on staying ready, staying consistent, and continuing to grow. I’m open to travel, new experiences, and working with people who are telling meaningful stories. For me, it’s really about building a body of work that feels intentional and staying aligned with projects that I connect with.
