Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Zuniga Jr.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started off in a small town just outside Flint, MI, after high school I moved from city to city eventually settling in Grand Rapids to pursue a music career.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. I was in the streets, I was partying a lot, relationship troubles attempted suicide, and losing my mom were the big problems I faced and overcame in my journey. It was an unstable lifestyle. Music saved me through it all.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a music artist and public figure. I am proud of the shows I’ve played thus far and notoriety I’ve gained, But I want to take it so much farther. Every penny I make besides bills has gone to my craft. What separates me from others is my motive. I make my music for people with depression, trauma, and just anyone who would need someone to relate to. I try to speak directly into their soul because that’s the kind of music that helped me come to terms with everything I had going on.
What were you like growing up?
I was always cracking jokes! But I was also pretty troubled. Smoking weed, failing school, depressed, etc. Music was always my way of self-expression!
