Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Brown.
Hi Taylor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I found myself unemployed during the COVID pandemic, I turned to something that had always brought me joy—creating beautiful charcuterie boards and hosting intimate gatherings. It was my way of finding creativity and connection in an isolating time. My husband was the one who saw the potential in what I was doing and encouraged me to turn my passion into a business. At first, it was just a way to share something I loved, but when I started posting my boards on social media, everything changed. The response was overwhelming, and before I knew it, orders started pouring in.
What started as a hobby quickly grew into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. Thanks to the power of social media, my charcuterie creations reached people far beyond my local community, and the business took off. Now, five years later, we’ve built a brand that brings people together through beautifully curated spreads, and I couldn’t be more grateful. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m so thankful that what began as a passion project in uncertain times has turned into a thriving business that continues to grow.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a business was exciting, but it came with its fair share of challenges. In the beginning, I had to figure everything out on my own—managing orders, sourcing quality ingredients, pricing my boards fairly, and handling the unexpected hurdles that come with running a business. There were times when I felt overwhelmed trying to balance customer demands, social media growth, and the behind-the-scenes work that no one sees. I also faced imposter syndrome, questioning whether I was really cut out for this. As the business grew, so did the pressure to stay creative and consistent while maintaining the quality that set me apart. But through trial and error, I learned to adapt, ask for help when needed, and trust the process. Every challenge has been a lesson that has helped me grow as both a business owner and a person.
We’ve been impressed with Chandler Charcuterie, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Chandler Charcuterie, we specialize in creating custom-curated charcuterie boards and grazing tables that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Whether it’s an intimate gathering, a wedding, a corporate event, or a special celebration, we bring people together through artfully arranged spreads featuring high-quality cheeses, meats, fresh fruits, nuts, and gourmet accompaniments. What sets us apart is that no two boards are ever the same—each one is uniquely crafted to fit the occasion, ensuring a one-of-a-kind experience every time.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how we’ve grown from a small passion project into a trusted name in the industry, all while staying true to our creativity and quality. Our goal is to make luxury charcuterie accessible, convenient, and unforgettable. We offer delivery straight to your door, making it easy to enjoy a curated experience without the stress. More than just food, our boards tell a story, create a centerpiece for connection, and leave a lasting impression. I want people to know that when they order from Chandler Charcuterie, they’re getting more than just a board—they’re getting a custom, hand-crafted work of art designed to elevate their gathering.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
As a business owner in metro Detroit, I love the energy and resilience of this city. There’s a strong sense of community here, and people genuinely support local businesses, which has been a huge part of Chandler Charcuterie’s success. I also love the incredible food scene—Detroit has some of the best restaurants, markets, and hidden gems that inspire my own creativity with charcuterie. The city’s mix of history and innovation makes it such a unique place to live and work.
One thing I don’t love? The unpredictable Michigan weather! It can be a challenge when delivering our boards, especially in the winter months. But even with the cold and snow, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be—Detroit’s heart and hustle make it the perfect place to grow a business.
