Meet Ryan Redoute

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Redoute.

Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Professionally, I hit the ground running when I entered the advertising world after graduating from Michigan State University; beginning my career managing all things analytics and reporting for big brands like Mars/Wrigley and LEGO in Chicago, IL. Since then, I have gained experience in every other aspect of the advertising business including sales, media planning/buying, campaign management, brand strategy as well as business development. Now, I live for making my own client’s businesses thrive.

I started my digital marketing agency Dynamo in 2018 because I saw how all businesses could be using marketing strategies “meant” for Fortune 500 companies to grow. Being an entrepreneur myself, I want to help business owners grow their revenue and realize their business’s full potential. Lately, I’ve found a lot of success in growing businesses through Paid Search so I’ve focused a lot of my efforts on marketing channels within that.

I’m coming up on my 4th full year in business and to be honest, it feels amazing! I got this spot by surrounding myself with supportive family and friends, sticking to my gut instinct, and by continuing to move forward (I’ve always liked the quote “Keep Moving Forward” from the movie Meet The Robinsons).

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
OMG were their struggles! I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve felt like I was on the #strugglebus. They don’t tell you how entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It’s a mental game more than anything.

You’re alone often, you have only yourself to rely on to problem solve, and it’s hard to find people to relate to your experience. But you can combat these negatives a bit by joining things like niche business groups or coworking spaces, sticking to doing what you know best, and being comfortable, confident, and happy with yourself emotionally. Always remember that your work doesn’t define you as a person.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Some clients refer to me as a “digital marketing guru” which is a very trendy thing to say. Haha. But I do feel I have a unique resume of experience that backs that claim up. Like I mentioned, I’ve touched every facet of the digital marketing industry at high and low levels of business in addition to living that “social influencer” fantasy with 100K+ followers over on TikTok. I feel not many people under 30 can say that.

I’ve learned to love being a jack of many skills versus a specialist in a single facet of the industry. It enables me to be a true consultant for businesses because their marketing strategies, even for smaller businesses, typically encompass many different digital marketing channels like social media, paid search, display media, print media, influencer marketing, etc.

I’m most proud of my honesty in the business realm. Many businesses have come to me saying that they were wronged by a different agency that overpromised on their offerings, or never gave them access to certain accounts, or simply were not transparent about what their “social media management” fee went toward. I make it my mission to be transparent with businesses, be honest about my ability to help them or not, and ensure they are properly educated on what their valuable business dollars are going toward.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I can be a bit of an anxious person and it’s something I’ve really had to work on over the years through therapy, habit changes, and interpersonal work. Starting my own business and putting myself out into the world via things like TikTok/YouTube where millions of people can reach me pushed me into different “Lion Dens” throughout the years and I definitely feel stronger because of it.

But there is always room to grow more, things are always changing, so I just keep moving forward (or I say “keep on keepin’ on” a lot which is a famous RuPaul’s Drag Race catchphrase).

Some other things I love are RuPaul’s Drag Race, Fitness and Health, Playing Sports, and traveling around Michigan, and hopefully more of the world when funds and transportation allow.
