Hi Kathleen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I founded Modern Day Snow White, LLC in 2022 after relocating to Michigan with my husband and two kids. With a background in logistics and finance, I was looking for a change after the pandemic, and I decided to pursue a path that aligned more closely with my passions. Growing up in a suburb of Atlanta, I was the go-to kid in the neighborhood for pet care, and I’ve always had a deep love for animals. I was even given the nickname “Snow White,” which stuck with me over the years.

When my family and I struggled to find reliable care for our dogs while traveling, I realized there was a real need for trustworthy pet services. I decided to bring that childhood nickname back to life and build a business focused on offering the highest standard of care. What started as a one-person operation grew organically through word of mouth, and now we have an amazing team. In addition to regular pet sitting services, we offer our clients access to veterinary care and end-of-life services through our trusted partner network.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a small business is never easy—just ask any local owner in your community! We’re no exception. Over the years, we’ve experimented with various ideas and learned that our true strength lies in the relationships we’ve built with our clients and the community. I’ve spent countless late nights brainstorming ways to make quality care more accessible to everyone while still ensuring we can sustain ourselves. Constantly striving to improve, I’m always looking for ways to do better for both our clients and our team.

Additionally, we specialize in medical transportation, both for routine and urgent needs.

Through our trusted partner network, we also offer access to veterinary care for both routine and end-of-life needs, as well as cremation services when the time comes. Our mission at Modern Day Snow White is to provide a white-glove service experience, building lasting, supportive relationships with both you and your pets. We are constantly innovating within the pet care and veterinary industries to ensure that care is not only exceptional but also affordable. What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey is that when you lead with love, everything else falls into place. You don’t need to pressure people into buying your services. Simply have a genuine heart, be a good person, and the meaningful connections will follow naturally.
