Today we’d like to introduce you to J Mike.
Hi J, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always wanted my own clothing brand since my youth. Fear and self-doubt made me start my process a little late, but I started. It started with me bleaching distressing and painting hats for a music group called the Heartbreak which I truly enjoyed and it made me want more. So that’s when I came up with Jon Jamar.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I honestly don’t think any road is easy, that’s why discipline and consistency are so important. Here at Jon Jamar, we like to look at our struggles as an opportunity to learn; as a small business you are always seeking ways to grow to evolve
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the founder of Jon Jamar, which is a clothing brand for both women and men. I handle a lot of the operations, but the most important thing is the design I love to create. We hosted our first fashion show a couple of months ago, and it was successful, it was joyful to see everyone enjoy the experience. Not only that the fashion show is airing on streaming platforms called Tubi and Amazon Prime. Through our brand, we hope to inspire you to be yourself.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Researching is so key when you are a small business it helps the company grow. Some books that I have read that help are The Alchemist, the four agreements, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Think and grow rich, and the psychology of money just some. I use to like reading I actually hated reading, but I learned that it is so much information in the reading. You learn things rather it is about yourself or things in your everyday life.
