Meet India Young of Buttercreme Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to India Young.

Hi India, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2017, I randomly developed dark scaly eczema patches that were super itchy to the point that my “spots” would sometimes burn from scratching. It made me feel so uncomfortable in my skin. I invested so much money into store-bought products, even combining different products together. While I found some products to be better than others, they all lacked long-term moisture and actual skin absorption. Long story short, I still felt dry even right after applying what was supposed to provide moisture.

Because of my experience with other products, I wanted to create a brand whose primary focus was long-lasting moisture. So first, I passed out samples on my college campus before officially launching. And in October of 2018, I joined vendor events/pop-up shops to grow our presence.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road, we still struggle at times. But it’s a good kind of struggle because it proves that we are growing. We have had to make major improvements with the design of our labeling, the packaging our product comes in, shipping in a timely manner and so many more behind-the-scenes tasks as a one-woman show. But nonetheless, we are a work in progress that is worthy of support.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
