Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Kasic.
Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an evidential medium and an end-of-life coach, but would have never anticipated these titles for myself just five years ago! In addition to being a Mom and wife, I spent twenty years as a classroom teacher, passionate about teaching and learning and this was my life’s focus.
My life and worldview began to expand quite dramatically after my father passed from cancer on November 1, 2020. While the nine months prior to my father’s passing were filled with much anticipatory grief and emotional hardship, the experience of his passing itself was felt as truly a sacred transition. During his passing, I experienced what we call a shared death experience with him as well as direct post death communication. I didn’t know these terms at the time, but I now volunteer with both the International Association of Near Death Studies as well as the Shared Crossing Project, both being organizations that research near death experiences and end-of-life phenomena. These organizations’ work helped me understand and name what I had called for years simply an “otherworldly experience.”
The experiences with my father opened a door of unexpected communication with not only him, but others that have passed from this life to the next. This was not something that I sought out or even expected, but it was accompanied with such beauty, love, evidence, and support for loved ones still here in their earthly form, that I could not deny only the verified information that I couldn’t possibly know, but more importantly, the support and comfort the unexpected communication was providing to those in need.
It took me over a year to accept that I am a medium, and it took me another year to gather the courage to offer evidential mediumship connections professionally to the public. In reflection of my father’s passing, I have been called to support people through life’s sacred transition, what we call ‘death,’ but truly is simply a rebirth. My dad was led home, and me open. Nature’s Way is beautiful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to mediumship wasn’t a choice, but a calling of beauty that I couldn’t deny. That being said, it was a journey that was also sprinkled with self doubt (I like science), a transformation of the understanding of reality, and the requirement of courage to be unconventional.
The day I finally called myself a medium was nearly one year to the day after my dad’s passing. My family and I traveled to my childhood home eight hours away to sprinkle my father’s ashes in the woods behind the log home my parents had built. Having a short conversation with the man now living in my dad’s dream home, I perceived that he was lonely and feeling a bit down about life.
The next morning in my daily meditation, I suddenly felt the presence of a man and an elderly woman. Without logical explanation, I knew this was the brother and mother of the man in my childhood home. I paused to find paper, feeling I should write everything down.
His brother placed the image of a bird in a box in my mind. I felt pinching at my stomach and knew he had to give himself daily injections. I felt he was a teacher, and next he shared the image of building snowmen with his brother and the emotion of fondness. “Thank you,” were words I heard as he exited my awareness while his mother’s presence returned.
She shared her love of daily walks and mailbox flowers, and showed me in my mind a white kitchen pot holder adorned with a green and yellow flower. I knew it was special and passed down from family. She expressed her appreciation for her son having taken care of her.
After much internal angst and debate, I decided to drive back to my old log home and offer to the man that lived there the paper in which I had written everything down, having felt like I experienced a loving connection with his family members. I drove back to that house and was honest with the homeowner, telling him about the experiences I had been having with my father since his passing. He took the paper from my hand and read it all, verifying that his brother was a teacher, gave himself daily injections for diabetes, and that together they had built a special box for a hummingbird they had buried after it flew into the windows of the log home. He asked me to wait a moment, and minutes later he brought up from the basement that white kitchen pot holder with a green and yellow flower. “My mother’s dad handmade this for her,” he shared. “I had to dig through boxes in the basement to find it. You could have never possibly known about this.”
One week later, I received a phone call from that man and he had a question for me. ‘Why did this happen to me?’” Without hesitation I answered him. “I love this because for a year I asked myself this very question, ‘Why me?’” The reason is the same. Because you are worthy. We all are.”
After a period of silence, he shared, “You have a real gift and helped me more than you know. I was so depressed before this and now I have some hope. This has changed my outlook on life.” We hung up the phone and purpose swelled within me along with tears. “I’m a medium and I have to accept this,” I said aloud. And with that, I braved my wings.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I offer both evidential mediumship sessions and end-of-life coaching.
An evidential mediumship session is an experience of healing connection between those living in the present with their loved ones in spirit, sometimes spiritual guides, and even pets! During the connection, the person in spirit will provide the medium with evidence of their life and relationship with you. The person in spirit uses the medium’s life experiences, knowledge, and consciousness to convey information about their past physical life. Following evidence, the loved one in spirit shares messages of importance that they want to relay to their loved one. These are often messages of gratitude, apologies, and help for life’s journey.
What I am most proud of with this heart based offering is the standard of integrity and care I adhere to and approach of this work. This is an experience of love I am facilitating for us that serves a purpose for your highest good and includes messages of support and forward movement on your path, not just an hour of time together of ‘reporting’ from spirit. From your first reach out to the after session follow up, you will feel holistically guided in love, healing, guidance, and connection. I generally only do one reading a day in order to give my best and full presence to every person.
In addition to evidential mediumship sessions, I also support those who want to plan holistically for the end-of-life. This is not only for those with a terminal illness, but for anyone who is wanting to think about more than just end-of-life finances and health care plans, but also to feel a sense of peaceful closure in their life’s journey.
End-of-life coaching is a life affirming, five to ten week holistic process that honors well-being across five domains of wellness: physical, practical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
This process is based on the principal that our lives our worthy of dignity, connection, and honor through our last breath and afterward. Death is just another transition of life. It is not the end. We want to honor the transition so that it may be approached holistically and filled with affirmation and love.
Upon completing the coaching process, the client will have an end-of-life care plan across the five domains of well-being listed above. This ensures that not only is one’s personal dying process honored with dignity, care, personal choice and connection, but also celebrates the meaning of one’s life both past and present in such a way that is affirming and validating.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I used to believe in luck. Now, I believe in grace. There is something beautiful that happens when we step into alignment with our heart’s truths and live from a place of not necessarily logic and ‘shoulds,’ but from our inner essence of love and innate connection.
Every step I have taken on this journey has been guided by living in that alignment. I didn’t make a business plan or come up with a marketing strategy. I’m not even sure I could. But what I can do is serve, and serve with integrity, care, and heart.
Grace is taking care of the rest.
