Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayianna Palmer.
Hi Ayianna, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ayanna & I started My Hair Company at the age of 19. When I started, I didn’t have any idea of what I was doing – I’m the first Business owner in my family. I had no knowledge of anything. When I started my hair company, It was easy because I was already into hair & I Always kept the best hair extensions in. But to turn it into a full established was a bit hard. I googled information and always watched YouTube videos of mentors which helped, and I read a lot of books (which I still do) I invested every dime I had, and I even worked 3 jobs to get all the money. Consistency and dedication got me where I am today 5 years later. I kept going no matter what, and I never gave up even when things got hard for me or when the losses happened.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The business itself is never a smooth road. Your gonna run into obstacles, but that’s how you learn and turn everything into a success story!
I’ve had struggles with staying consistent & investing… investing was really the biggest struggle I had because I was scared to take chances.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We sell quality hair extensions and wigs! I’m known for providing the best quality hair in the Ypsilanti area. Not only are we located in Michigan but we also work in Dallas Texas to provide hair as well! My marketing and networking skills are what sets me apart. I’m willing to go above and beyond to get my business noticed! We’ve shipped to the UK & Italy which I’m MOST proud of to be international.
I am opening an upscale hair store in Ypsilanti, Michigan, this coming falls, and I’m so excited to share that project with everyone.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was the 2nd oldest out of 4. I was a real outgoing kid! I could fit in with any crowd. I enjoyed being outside and hanging out with my friends. I had such a fun outgoing personality I had friends at every school I went to, and in every neighborhood, I lived in everyone loved me and my sisters.
