Hidden Gems: Meet Alicia Strunk of Society Natural Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Strunk.

Hi Alicia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I have always had a passion for helping people and all things natural. As I got older, I started to see the effects of medications and unhealthy lifestyle on my older family members. When my grandmother passed away, I decided to continue my education with a goal of changing people’s lives naturally. I transferred to National University of Health Sciences in Lombard Illinois, completed my bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences, and began the Chiropractic Program in winter of 2013. Early into my graduate studies I attended a seminar on functional medicine and was enthralled with how profound an effect correcting nutritional deficiencies could have on health. After graduation in 2017, I moved to Southern California where I was introduced to Nutrition Response Testing and continued my studies in Functional Medicine completing certifications in both. Now I serve patients in a family-style practice, focused on helping people heal from the inside out. I also became certified in Webster Technique to help pregnant moms throughout their journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, absolutely not. School can only prepare you for so much. After graduating you quickly learn (and I truly feel especially as a woman) that you have to stand up for yourself, as a new associate doctor you do sadly deal with unfair situations.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Society Natural Health started as a dream I had many years ago while still in school. I wanted a place where natural-minded individuals could come and receive health care with an open heart and mind, a place where the control is in their hands and they feel listened to, and loved for where they are at in their journey. From the pregnant mom with sciatica to a young man with anxiety and acne, to the many older individuals who need proper nutrition to keep living their lives with as much “life” as possible, that is what I offer. I see every patient as a completely unique individual with the power within them to create the health we all deserve. I offer a unique combination of chiropractic, soft tissue, and extremity work with functional medicine and Nutrition Response Testing to give everyone exactly what their body needs to heal and find balance.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the cultural diversity of Southeast Michigan and the strong sense of community.

Least would be the roads!!! I lived in Souther California and was spoiled with pothole-free roads.

  • I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation.
