Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Tamborini

Hi Mandy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Mandy Tamborini and I started Spun Sugar Detroit in 2016. We noticed there was not many mobile options for private events. I also wanted to include a nut free, dye free cotton candy options as well. The mobile cotton candy business took off, we now offer many different cotton candy cart options and flavors. Fast forward to 2024 – we are now a tiny candy shop in Brighton, MI. We do many mobile events as corporate events, Bat Mitvahs, wedding showers, birthday parties, all the parties.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has never been a smooth road. We opened our first brick and mortar candy shop during COVID. It was a very strange and scary time. We did well for awhile but the world opened back up and our candy shop just wasn’t doing well. You always need to be willing to pivot. Keep creating. Keep trying.

Any big plans?
We are looking for a bigger space like our old candy shop. I want to be able to do birthday parties and fun events.
