Daily Inspiration: Meet Trinisha Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinisha Smith. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Southside Smitty was a passion passed on from father to son as Michael’s father was the initial master of the grill. Michael “Southside Smitty” attended culinary school where instructor Chris Bethany helped Michael realize his passion for cooking. Southside Smiitty started in 2010 as he catered family functions, private parties, and special occasions, Michael’s wife Trinisha Smith saw the potential that Southside Smitty BBQ could become and pursued to bring the family business to higher goals. Through spending countless hours preparing her homemade sides that the community has grown to love, and Michael dedicating himself to have the best hometown feeling of BBQ with secret seasonings and secret BBQ sauce that has made Southside Smitty a staple BBQ stop.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road, the start of SouthsideSide Smitty we would only have a few customers a day and not gaining profit. We continued toward our vision, and now we constantly have a lengthy line of customers all day. At this time, our current struggle we face is the inflation the world is currently under. Another struggle we continue to face with being a small business is not having the correct equipment to successfully perform specifically a food truck to produce our best product. Additional examples consist of proper coolers and warmers to make sure we our following the food safety guidelines.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
