Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Vanderson

Hi Samantha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am honored to have been a part of the wending industry for over a decade! My hobby quickly became a passion when I realized how much joy I actually experience while doing my work. Photography has evolved over the years and trends have come and gone but the number one thing that stays the same is the delight it is to capture someone’s memories. Preserving legacy runs deep into the veins of my business and I hope that never changes!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think one of the biggest challenges I’ve overcome was the year that I rebranded my business in 2016. I previously ran this photography business with my husband before he pursued a different career path. I changed the business name that year. Re-establishing my business under a new name and brand took some time. During this period I focused on building intentional relationships with other vendors in the industry and rapport with my current client base! Over time my work and name in the industry became more recognized and I truly get to work with the most amazing people through it all!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Wedding photography in particular has been my primary area of focus over the last several years! I enjoy the flow and pace of the day and the overall joy that comes with preserving family legacy. I approach each wedding with passion & vision to capture the coupe’s day which will tell a timeless story. As time has passed, I have had a lot of clients come back to me to preserve more life milestones. It’s such a privilege to be invited back time and time again to watch a family as they grow and change.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
When you’re passionate about something, keep pursuing it with all your heart and soul. Your passion should always lead to an outcome of joy. Trends will come and go, other people in your industry will accomplish different things than you and it might get tempting to fall into a comparison trap. There’s room for everyone to share what they have to offer with the world!
