Daily Inspiration: Meet Madison Beltz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Beltz.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in Charlevoix – I went to college for interior design & business, for my degree and then moved to Palm Beach, FL. I worked there for 9 years – the last 4 of which I was the lead interior designer at the firm where I worked. 7 out of the 9 years I worked remotely from MI. My husband and I moved back to Charlevoix in 2022 to be closer to family and we wanted to be closer to things we enjoy doing – hiking, fishing, camping, etc.

After having my second baby in October of 2024 I left my job and opened my own firm in Charlevoix.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Since I was in the industry for some time, the transition felt really natural for me – I’ve always wanted my own firm and I’ve always wanted to work for myself – so from a business standpoint I felt nervous while also feeling excited & ready for these next steps.

The hardest thing for me has been the work life balance – which a lot of the time doesn’t feel “balanced”

I have a lot of systems in place to maximize my productivity at work, and I have a lot of help at home, but there are a lot of days where I feel I’m failing at both ends.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Interior designer
Specialize in residential interiors

I’d say I’m known for mixing a lot of different interior styles while helping my clients create a space that feels like a reflection of themselves – a place that feels like home.

I have a fresh / unique perspective when it comes to interiors – all of my projects are focused around the client – how they use the space, what they want to showcase. I work hard to understand them so I can create a space that feels comfortable for them & will stand the test of time.

What makes you happy?
My kids, painting, designing beautiful spaces for my clients, long walks, the beach.

I’m constantly inspired by all of the above, so I’d say that’s why they bring me happiness
