Daily Inspiration: Meet Bernard Allen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernard Allen.  

Hi Bernard, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started making music when I was 16 years old with a group of 10 friends. The name of our group was “Go Getter Boyz.” We eventually went solo a few years after. I got to where I am now by just truly working hard and networking. What makes me unique from other artists is that all my craft is created off pure facts of my upcoming/ current lifestyle and experiences. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As an artist, my career has been very challenging, but through it all, I found good within. 1 obstacle I still face today is managing myself. I promote, write, network, and manage everything on my own. As I build my brand, I realize I have a lot to learn. Another challenge I had to face was weaving out my genuine support with those around me. People I thought I could trust were using me for their own personal use. Dividing myself was very challenging. 

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a musical artist from Pontiac, Michigan, and I make music based upon my life and actual experiences. I am known for my creative and unique sound/work. I specialize in building a relationship with my audience. Something I am most proud of within my career is shooting a music video Out the State which is Los Angeles, California. Something that sets me apart from other artists is I don’t have to make music about killing nor doing any violent activities for people to relate to my music. People enjoy my music for simply who I am. 

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Social media has helped my career tremendously, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok and Snapchat. My music is located on every platform. I distribute all my music through Distrokid and my personal YouTube channel (Hardway BJ).
