Daily Inspiration: Meet Andrea Oneal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Oneal.

Hi Andrea, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Scrublife was birthed in 2017, while O was employed with one of the biggest major health organizations. I remember sitting and watching my coworkers’ order uniforms and talk about how much they cost. They would complain about the price point as well as the lack of colors that were provided, I then began sketching out what I wanted my scrub line to look like along with my mother, and from there, Scrublife was born.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Challenges with launching any business are inevitable. One of my major challenges was dealing with someone who had stolen my business name and branded it as their own, I had to go through a very difficult trademarking process in order to secure that name back and continue on with my business. Today I am happy to report that my business has been trademarked on a federal level for more than 2 years. If you’re a small business, please consider getting your business trademarked so that you never have to experience what I experienced.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an ABA therapist that specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis. This is such a beautiful field of work to me because it allows me to help children with Autism live wonderful, fulfilling lives. I have been doing this line of work for 4 years, and I enjoy every minute of it.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
One of the risks I have taken was opening a uniform business on a smaller scale than most major businesses. I have definitely seen my share of ups and downs, especially during the recent loss of my father. Branding myself apart from my competition has proven to be difficult but I am always up for the challenge.
