Community Highlights: Meet Robert Yeo of Forever After Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Yeo

Hi Robert, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When I was young my Dad had a Karaoke business, I could never sing and loved playing music, we did a few weddings together before I moved to South Carolina and worked for a truly professional wedding DJ company called the Party Machine, the knowledge I learned while working with them, set up for opening my own business, I worked for 2 great company’s when I moved back to Michigan while I loved working with them, it was time to go on my own, That is why I started Forever After Entertainment. I truly love what I do, I am closing in on a 1000 weddings that I have personally done.
I have been averaging 50 weddings a year I truly love it. Unlike a lot of companies, I do not really do a lot of advertising, between word of mouth and Recommendations from past clients, venues and fellow Wedding Professionals. It has been an incredible journey and I have the amazing support from my family and friends. I also Donate my time every year for the local Boy scouts they do a car show every year at the Marine City Maritime Days, As well as Walk N Roll for ALS at Kensington Park. It is always great to give back to the community that supports me so much.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say its a smooth road, The life of a DJ as much as you love and enjoy it, there is a big trade off with Family. You give up your weekends doing events, and miss a lot of family and Friends events. Vacations have to be planned a year to 2 years in advance. When you are doing someone’s wedding or event the last thing you want to deal with is bad news. You always have to give your 100%, I have done weddings very sick as you just cant call in lol I do network with some amazing DJs in the area so I always have a back up in case something where to ever Happen, My Family also knows if I am at an event if there was a death in the family to not call me till after as there is nothing I can do, I can’t just leave and I need to be giving my 100% to my client, Some bad news about a family member would certainly hinder my focus and could potentially hurt my performance.
Then there is all the sales calls, Final info meetings, The set up and tear down at every event. It is a lot and in the midst of wedding season can take a toll, but when you have a rocking’ Dance floor and most importantly a Bride and Groom that are smiling ear to ear, thanking you for delivering there dream wedding. It makes everything worth it, no greater feeling!

Ceremony Sound System

Sparktakulars – What can we say about these but complete shock and awe every time. You will be setting the tone of your Grand Entrance, Adding that extra Spark to your already Special First dance. It will be an addition to an already magical day.

Custom Monograms – We have many to chose from, The biggest difference is they look amazing on our TV mounted to the front of our DJ Booth. Unlike Dj’s that use projectors and put them on the floor, these can be seen all evening long.

Lighting – The up lighting plays such an important part to the presentation of the room as your guests are walking into the reception with that great ambiance of color that helps set off all your hard work on the center piece to your wedding décor and Colors.

Once the dancing the starts the lights will move to the beat of music for fast dancing, and slow songs will be a slow fade between colors to really set the mood.

We also have had the amazing opportunities to travel for weddings, all over the state of Michigan, Chicago, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia & Colorado, so we are excited to travel

“Your Fairytale Starts Here”

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was very out going, I was in the high school Band, played sports Football and Wrestling, I grew up on a dead end street with an elementary school right by where we played street hockey almost every single day, I have a great family with 1 brother, They allowed me to grow and do a lot of amazing things, like traveling having my friends over, Camping, our love for music. Some of my favorite memories Growing up was playing Euchre and Farkle with my parents and my friends, especially when Grandma was living with us!

I was always big into sports I shot pool on a league for a long time and recently started running a Cornhole League, (Yeo’s Cornholio Friends) We have been doing it for 3 years now and it has been a wild ride, from what started at a local bar, with 7 teams to today where we have over 40 Teams, Tournaments over 100 People. We have been very blessed and have meet some truly amazing people.

I am also a proud member of the Lakeshore Knights of Columbus, and just recently became a member of the Eagles club.
My Greatest Love is my family, I have amazing Parents, A beautiful wife, 3 kids a son in law and a Grandson!
