Hi Mike, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Men Bake Cookies started as a home baking business. Something to do to make some extra income. It was me, running the business on my own. I would take the cookies to local farmers markets, and events, and sell them, hoping all of this work worth it.

It was a leap to make a product, take it to an event where nobody heard of Men Bake Cookies, and hope they would sell, and the customers would buy.

I started doing our local farmers market every Saturday for 5 months out of the year, out there in the rain, heat, and cold, pushing cookies, and getting this name out there to help grow. It took off, so unexpectedly, and before long, repeat customers were showing up weekly, asking for their favorite flavors.

After 3 years, and endless grinding, I decided it was time to take Men Bake Cookies, that was a home baking business, and bring it to the public, with our own store front. Where customers could walk in, and buy our cookies on the spot.

Opening my own business/location was something I never saw in my future, or in the future of the business I created, especially starting out from my home, I was unsure how the reaction would be to Men Bake Cookies now being located at a store front location.

I am happy to report and update, that Men Bake Cookies has now had our store front open for over a year and a half, and we are continuing to grow.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a road that was all smooth. When we opened Men Bake Cookies in August of 2024, I didn’t know if it would be a success, a flop, or even how to run a commercial business.

I started out running the business daily by myself , financial side, baking side, dough prep, customer service, business management, you name it, I was a one man stop. I did this for about 4 months, because I didn’t want to bring in employees, and have the business not work out, it was a tough decision. It was a struggle, and it took a toll on my mental state for sure.

This was the biggest struggle for Men Bake Cookies, but eventually in November 2024, 4 months after opening, I hired our first employee.

We’ve been impressed with Men Bake Cookies, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Men Bake Cookies is a Veteran Owned and operated business. We make luxury Gourmet Cookies, from scratch, by hand. We specialize in large cookies, that are a tad crunchy outside, and has a soft inside, the perfect cookie if you ask me.

Cookies are our main focus, everything we do is around cookies, we even do our popular cookie cakes, with the variety of flavors changing all the time, as we try to grow that side of our business.

I think Men Bake Cookies is set apart from others, in that our cookies are made in house, with real ingredients, Our cookies are still weighed and rolled by hand. We do not use big fancy dough cutting machines, or tools to get our cookies sliced and sized, we do this ourself.

You know when you see our cookies, they do not all look the same, some have more bumps, lumps, or craters than others, and that proves that they are all rolled one by one, individually. We put time into our product.

We are also take our customer service very serious. We are a small business, we do not ship our products, deliver. We believe in people coming into our shop, we like to get to know our clients, their stories, things that is going on with them. Building personal relationships with our customers is something we do not take lightly. It is very important to me, and to what Men Bake Cookies was meant to be,

I am most proud of our brand, and our brand name. We get so many compliments on how many people love the name, and how unique it is. I love it so much, that the Men Bake Cookies name is now trademarked, to ensure it stays with us.

I want people to know that we are not your average run of the mill company, we are hard working people, who run a small business, that love cookies. We have over 15 flavors of cookies daily, and they are all individually wrapped and heat sealed at their peak freshness. This gives you a 5 day time frame that we say they will still taste amazing, anything after that, we suggest you freeze them. We can help you cater your corporate events, we offer cookie cakes, and we carry a Michigan Veteran Owned and Operated coffee company’s product in our shop. We support local.
