Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Ross.

Hi Brandon , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I moved from Redford Township to Grand Rapids in 2007 to attend college, originally focusing on accounting with aspirations of entering wealth management. But life had other plans. While finishing my degree, I began working part-time in sales for Grand Apps around 2012–2013 after my best friend, Chris Ake—the company’s founder—convinced me to give it a try. At the time, I never imagined myself in sales, but as the company grew, I found myself taking on many roles—from sales and accounting to operations. Over time, I developed a genuine passion for customer service and helping small businesses succeed. Then in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, my current business partner, Tyler Kutt, who was leading our marketing efforts, and I had the opportunity to purchase Grand Apps. It was a bold move during uncertain times, but we believed in the company’s potential and our ability to keep it growing—and that leap of faith has defined the next exciting chapter of my career.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. Sales alone can be tough—but convincing businesses to invest in new, unproven technology made it even harder. I quit my serving job earlier than I probably should have, putting everything on the line to make things work with Grand Apps. There were countless meetings that went nowhere and deals that fell through at the last second. Still, I kept pushing—late nights, early mornings, answering emails at 3:30 a.m. while talking with clients across the world. Every setback became motivation to improve and keep going. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade the rough path for an easier one—it’s the struggle that built my drive and made the wins mean something.
