Check Out Asia Boyd’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Boyd

Hi Asia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My roots are right here in Detroit Michigan. I grew up with a passion for basketball and joined teams starting at the age of 12. That passion grew and brewed an undeniable work eithc that ignited my high school recruiting trail. Recieving collegiate offers from over 25+ major universities. Eventually, choosing the University of Kansas- Jayhawks. During my collegiate career at the University of Kansas, I was a key contributor to multiple NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances and earned Big XII Honorable Mention honors.

During my last professional season with Ramat Hasharon in Isreal- 2019, I started a player development company , AB Level Up Sports LLC. My company serves a multitude of sports needs including basketball training for aspiring professional athletes and a space for professional athletes to pour into up coming generations.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No path is without a few road bumps! I have always been someone that sees that path as just that, embracing the bumps, accepting that they are coming and preparing to tackle them anyway that I can. The biggest hurdle getting into player development (if you dont own your own facility ) is gym space!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What set AB Level Up LLC training programs apart from other basketball training programs is our consistency, attention to detail, age ranged training groups and our high level sports backgrounds. All of our trainers are former basketball players with trainers background ranging from high school champions to international champions. We are also the first Woman Led basketball training company in Michigan.

This exposure has a big impact on our kids and is the #1 benefit from training with us. My drive, passion, and work ethic propelled me to be the Detroit Pistons Youth Ambassador for the Pistons Academy. These type of roles, connections help to continue to shape Women’s basketball !

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along the journey is that skill building is a process. I’ve also learned the importance of educating our parent demographic and keeping them informed on “the process” for their athletes!

I also here recently learned from my public speaking tour with the pistons , that there are a world of coaches or aspiring trainer who are intrested in growing in their area and helping to development athletes with almost no blueprint.

My E-book helps to fill that void and support training entrepenuers in any city, state, or country !
