Today we’d like to introduce you to Julius Myers.
Julius, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started off at ballys total fitness in Southfield in membership sales, then started personal training in 2006. Bally was bought by la fitness and I Rayesha with them a few months and it wasn’t a good fit, we parted way, began freelance training, would train at parks & and where every I could to keep my clients happy during the summer months, at that point I had to make a decision about how I would continue in the winter months. Decided to look for a location, I initially partnered with someone that I was working with on the music side (I’m a DJ and producer, I’ve been Djing since 1998) and they were looking for a place to house their daughter dance practice. We joined forces and created synergy personal training & dance studio. That we operates Roger for 5 years. My partner moved on to other Ventura and I maintain the business and expanding it form an 800 square ft facility to 3000 and evolved the name to synergy works Detroit!!!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s always gonna be struggles along the way, pandemic where the gun was completely shut down during that time, were we moved our training online only! It was challenging but ended up being a really fun time!
