Meet Zora Edwards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zora Edwards.

Hi Zora, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
At a very young age, I began taking photographs with my parents’ camera. I love taking pictures of flowers. One year, we returned home from vacation, and my parents were surprised to see all of the photos on their camera that I had taken while we were in the botanical gardens of Hawaii. In March of 2020, during the heat of the pandemic, I decided to turn my photography into stationery. My family and I believe it is important to express gratitude and stay connected, especially during tough times. I started selling my stationery with the sole purpose of raising money for children of migrant farmworkers who were severely impacted by the pandemic. I decided to turn this fundraiser into a business where I raise money for various charities through the sales of my artwork. Today, I have artwork displayed in the Henry Ford Cancer Center and have raised money for many causes, including a back-to-school drive for the Detroit Merit Charter Academy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am a full-time student-athlete, so balancing my education, sports, social life, and my business can be a challenge at times.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer. I specialize in photographing flowers and nature. I am known for my macro photography of flowers capturing vibrant colors. I am most proud of my business and being able to share my art and passion with others while helping the people around me. I believe my artistic and entrepreneurial interests set me apart from others.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Aside from my art and making others happy, I love playing, watching, and coaching tennis. I have been playing tennis since I was four, and whenever I step onto the court, I just get excited. Every aspect of the sport is thrilling to me. I love competition and the independent component of the game.

I have had the pleasure of ordering cards from Zora and their vibrant images are worthy of being treasured and framed. As a photographer, she has a unique approach to photographing nature. It’s the best purchase I’ve made in a long time!
