Meet Keith Libra of Time Blaster Toys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Libra.

Hi Keith, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been selling toys online for the past 8 years. Along the way, the toys began to take over our house. Our basement, garage, and closets were full of vintage & modern action figures and other toys. A little over a year ago, my wife Melanie suggested we open a toy shop close to our home. Time Blaster Toys opened on July 31st, 2021, and we’ve continued to grow since. Our shop is packed with toys, trading cards, VHS movies, and tons of other things that will remind you of your past: whether you grew up in the ’80s, ’90s, or the 2000s.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a relatively smooth road. One of my biggest challenges is keeping the store tidy & easy to navigate/shop. I really wanted to change the perception of a vintage toy store. Our shop is super bright, clean & organized. While it is packed with toys everywhere, I try to make it not overwhelming. Our constantly reorganizing the sales floor to accomplish this goal is a daily struggle.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Time Blaster Toys is our toy shop located at 38403 Joy Rd. in Westland, MI. We buy, sell & trade vintage & modern action figures and toys. There’s a few categories I feel we specialize in. The first would be pro wrestling toys. I myself have been an independent professional wrestler for the past 15 years and am a lifelong fan, so my knowledge in the category is vast. Our second specialty would be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys. Again, I’ve collected them most of my life and put out a constant inventory of new product weekly. Over the past year, we’ve cultivated an awesome community in our shop, where different generations of collectors can come together and hang out. I think what sets us apart is our store vision. While we obviously want to sell toys and make money, another huge driving force for us is to provide a space where parents & grandparents can bring their kids and spend some quality time together. We have a LEGO table & free arcade games for guests to play. Also, my wife designed the coolest bathroom you will ever see. The floor is covered in 2000 Pokémon cards, and the walls were painted black and free to sign: we’ve collected hundreds of fluorescent-colored signatures & drawings at this point.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We are a visual store more than anything, so if you’d like a better idea of what we’re about and the things we sell, you can find us on Instagram & TikTok @timeblastertoys. Most days, I post at least one photo & one brief video discussing the “Toy Of The Day.”

In addition to that, we also have a podcast titled the Time Blaster Toycast. New episodes drop every Monday & it’s a ton of fun. Each week, myself & two buddies take a nostalgic walk down memory lane and discuss a specific toy line from that past. If you grew up in the ’80s & ’90s, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
