Meet Kim Frager

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Frager.

Hi Kim, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, my name is Kim Frager, and I am the owner of Majik Touch Dance Company. My dream was always to own a TOP performing dance team for inter-city kids in the metro Detroit area, where I was born and raised. I started my vision at Detroit Pal. I was the head coach of the Westside Cubs C Team Division Cheerleading Team. I still hold the record as the Best Coach in the PAL League with seven 1st Place Championships in a row. With dancing as my passion, I realized it was time to make my move. I, along with my sister, started Majik Touch Dance Company in 2009. Majik Touch has made its mark in the dancing industry. We hold the title of one of the top three teams in the country in Hip-Hop Dance. Me and my sister along with our amazing staff that includes my daughter, my niece, and three former dancers, have created a legacy that will remain. We have won numerous championship awards, danced for Mayor Duggan, opened for shows here in Detroit, danced at Piston games, been a part of the Thanksgiving Parade, and that’s just to name a few. I’m still waiting for my dream performance and that is to open for the BET Awards. Dance is my HAPPY PLACE which is where I will be until GOD calls my name.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has had its challenges. We have experienced changes in the industry, cultural differences, financial setbacks, and the generation change. We have been through the worst pandemic in the world COVID-19. The struggles are real and has taught me that you have to work extremely hard for what you truly want.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have worked the same company for 34 years. Loyalty is my best friend.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up with 2 sisters and 3 brothers, we were the Webster Bunch LOL. You had to get in where you fit in. I was the one who would never take a side; everybody was right, my mother was a dancer, and all of us loved music. My dad didn’t have to think about what style of music he liked because we played it all. Of course, my interest was Dance. I was always in a talent show or anything that had to do with dance.
