Daily Inspiration: Meet John Mireles

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Mireles.

Hi John, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Well, I started writing lyrics when I was 11. I was mostly motivated to prove myself due to most people judging me off of appearance as opposed to what I had to say. I recorded and mixed my first song, “517 Flexing,” with my friends at around 17. A couple years after that, I had my first studio-engineered song, “517” (You can see the theme here) with the well-known Dj Eclipse. These last couple of years have been a mixture of recording and mixing my own music and going through the audio engineers at Crackhouse Recording Studio. No matter the method, I’ve gotten to where I am now by consistency. No matter my down times with music, that fire and passion is always there.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in life is smooth. Nothing worthwhile, at least. From constant bouts with writer’s block and insecurity to financial status and time flexibility, there’s never a smooth road but that makes it all the more worth it.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I, first and foremost, am an artist. I make Rap music and have begun to dabble in the world of R&B. I also engineer songs in my basement that not only include my projects but the other artists that’s I am affiliated with through a group named Quazar. I would definitely say I’m more known for rapping, but my end goal is to produce and engineer music for artists that I believe in. I am most proud for the songs that I have engineered for my friends. They’ve really been my Guinea Pigs in the realm of engineering, but they can speak to the exponential growth I’ve had. More specifically, I’m most proud of a song I wrote/mixed called “WYD” with Lansing’s own j. bailey.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
My work email is in the description of my social media profiles for anyone with business inquiries. That is for everything in the music process including writing, performing, or engineering. I greatly appreciate anyone that likes and shares my music as well! I really just want to get my name known more in my local area.
