Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Ball.
Hi Nicole, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
From an early age, the desire to look and feel amazing has been a huge part of my life.
In 2013 I was attacked by a dog and had to have seven reconstructive surgeries on my face. This was at a very tough time for me, as I had to get used to the scars, and the changes to a face that I had known for 34 years. The impulse to feel good about me and to look somewhat like I did before drove me to finally move forward with a career that would help me do that!
It would also give me the chance to help others like me, or those who just have the same desire to look and feel amazing too.
With all of this in mind, I enrolled at the Douglas J Aveda Institute in Royal Oak, MI. I graduated from their Esthetics program, and from there went on to manage a nail salon & spa. A while later I moved on to a facility where I was trained in laser treatments and lash extensions. Next, I decided it was my turn and put my focus on opening my own Salon & Spa, and Rebelz was born!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This has definitely been tough, but we’re seeing an upward swing now.
Construction during the pandemic was very difficult, skilled labor trades were lacking help so getting things done took a lot longer than expected.
Since opening, I have seen a consistent but slow growth. Finding people to join our team has been challenging. There is a lot of concern about parking, but so far, we haven’t had any issues finding a spot, and our customers have had no issues either.
I have added a nail tech and am currently looking for 2 hair stylists to complete the Beauty Bar.

Lol, I don’t seem to have much luck, I guess I’m just built for that. No matter what the situation business or personal, I always pull myself up, dust myself off, and rise above it. I don’t have a choice failure is not an option for me…I have 5 amazing children that have only me to depend on.
