Hi Jamila, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
After graduating from college, I realized that I needed to find work in whatever field was hiring at the moment. My main goal was to work in the fashion industry. I started blogging as a way to keep my foot in fashion. Over the years, blogging has opened new doors and created new opportunities for me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely been a struggle. I didn’t know anyone else blogging at the time, so I had to figure it out along the way. It was a lot of trial and error. I think my hardest struggle was creating content in the beginning and finding people to read my work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I currently help small businesses build their social media presence. Technology is always evolving and some people have a hard time keeping up. Having a social media presence is critical in this day and age, especially if you want to attract customers.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people would be surprised to know that I’m shy. I’m such an introvert.
