Today we’d like to introduce you to Heaven Simpson.
Hi Heaven, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my hair journey at 16. The pandemic was just getting started and I was wondering what to do with my life. My friend wanted a style called “Butterfly Locs” so I tried them on her with my best friend. I advertised them on Facebook for $90 and immediately people wanted to book with me because of my low prices. I started taking clients and as they kept coming eventually it became my full-time job. I’ve been a hairstylist ever since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship is hard especially when it pays your bills. On top of that clients aren’t always the easiest to get along with. You have to deal with attitudes and clients trying to bash you online and ruin your business over a small understanding but I’ve never been the type to give up so I’ve always done my best to make the best of the situations.
As you know, we’re big fans of Sabris Hair Vault. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
While being a hairstylist is my main business, I am a serial entrepreneur I have “Sabris hair vault” which is a hair service-based business located in Southfield Michigan. I have “Sabri lashed me” which is a service-based business for quality lash extensions. I also have a luxury hair extension business coming very soon named “Sabri Kaoir”. It will carry high-quality 613 and natural-colored extensions. I specialize in butterfly locs but I am also currently making a transition to quick weaves and wig installs as well. I do my best to provide quality services for affordable prices. I am the most proud of how neat my work is. I am always told on how my styles are very neat. Every other Friday of the month starting in July I will be doing specials.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In my opinion, the hair industry changes every year no matter if it’s old trends coming back or new ones being created. I can’t predict anything but I do know that every year hairstyles are advancing and getting better.
