Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyger Sharee’.
Tyger, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My venture into film officially started in 2013, but my love for it began very early on in life. Movies, acting, and creating have been a constant staple in my life as long as I can remember. I was a painfully shy kid with this huge dream that I thought was unattainable, but I was very determined to obtain it anyway I could. I applied to Mott Community College in hopes of meeting others in film and getting my foot in the door while getting a degree in the process.
Before I graduated in 2015, I did an internship for a short film in Flint Michigan starting out as a P.A. then moving up to being a Script Supervisor. This is where my journey began. After saying yes to that position, it opened doors for crew positions on films, which led to acting and modeling jobs for the last 7 years.
The past few years I started to dabble in writing and directing; recently I finished my first film, “The Woman In The Room”. It’s based off of the short story written by Stephen King and it’s part of his Dollar Baby program for filmmakers.
And just recently I started my own production company Black Widow Productions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would compare my experience in the film industry to the roads in Michigan. It’s been a bumby road full of massive potholes you don’t see coming, but the views are amazing. It’s been quite a learning experience and along the way and I’ve met some of the greatest people I’d like to call lifelong friends.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Black Widow Productions is one of the few female-owned film production companies out of Flint, Michigan.
We specialize in short films, commercials, and music videos.
The first film to be released from Black Widow Productions is “The Woman In The Room.” Based off of Stephen King’s short story by the same title from his novel Night Shift.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As I’m getting older, I’m taking more risks, which is usually the opposite for most people. I find myself saying yes to more jobs than I normally would and stepping out of my comfort zone. I want to experience as much as I can out of this life. If I didn’t say yes or take any risks I wouldn’t have got this far in my career. The biggest risk I’ve taken to date is starting my own production company and so far, it’s been a rewarding experience.
