Check Out Zsa Zsa Hubbard’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zsa Zsa Hubbard.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story is one of triumph and grace! I was in raised to love and care for people at an early age. Growing up in Detroit for any child is a miracle especially when your surrounded by the injustices and obstructions that can cause future trauma and believe you me, life definitely handed me a handful! As I grew up, I began to fall in love with hosting & church services, community service, and politics! I grew up on the northwest side of Detroit, MI, off Joy rd. to be exact. I attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Mackenzie High School. As a student in high school, I was the Class President, Homecoming Queen, Captain of Pom Pom and Track n Field along with many other organizations. My senior year in high school started off so on point and midway in turned for the worst, or at least I thought so at that time. My world changed forever when I gave birth to my son Tayshaun Scott at the tender age of 17 years old. Although I had experience helping my mom raise my 7 siblings, having your own child is extremely different. My son gave me a testimony and he helped change the trajectory of both our lives, especially now that he is freshman at Alabama A & M University. I attended multiple colleges in hopes to finish my degree in Communications and International Business. After I graduated from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, I started hosting public and private events. After running for office, I was blessed to work for the Wayne County Clerk’s Office. During my employment there, I was giving an opportunity to become a Wedding Officiant for 12 years along with a multitude of other duties ranging from providing customer service in various departments such as Community Outreach CPLs. Birth & Death record etc. When my mom passed away in 2015, I chose to leave my job and start my own business while I invest in myself! I started my first company Hubbard Resource Group in 2015 and shortly after I opened additional business ventures. I am currently the Podcast Host for “Yeah I Said It”, TV Host for “Uncommon Conversations with Zsa Zsa” and host of other businesses.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to a life you want will never be smooth but it will be worth it. My journey was definitely not smooth but one filled with disappointment, betrayal, and tremendous loss. However, the things that I thought would take me out or kill me, ended up being the very things that helped me become who I am today. The repercussions of my decisions yielded in different outcomes but eventually those decisions ended in my favor. Unfortunately, as a teenage mom, I often experienced a lot of backlash and doubt, especially when it came to my gifts and talents. At the age of 12, I was diagnosed with alopecia, an autoimmune disease, that attacks the hair, nails, and skin. At the age of 27 most if not all of my hair came out from the top of head, eyebrows, eyelashes, and all of my body hair. During my professional career, I loss my father to suicide in 2006, my mother passed in 2015 from a pierced lung & sepsis (an infection found in the blood caused by most hospitals), and my brother was killed by correctional officers in prison. I had to overcome grief and deal with my anger after losing family, cars, and eventually my home. My trials and tribulations have allowed me to make better decisions about my life. I thank God I don’t look like what I’ve been through!!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Television and Radio host for “Yeah I Said It Podcast” and “Uncommon Conversations with Zsa Zsa”! I am blessed to be a serial entrepreneur and own multiple companies. I am also the owner of Hubbard Resource Group, a business consulting firm for entrepreneurs. I also own a beauty spa called Detroit Lash Lounge, specializing in beauty & spa services for cancer and alopecia clientele or those looking to enhance their natural beauty. I started a nonprofit organization called the Kelly’s Kids Foundation in honor of my late mother Kelly R. Hubbard. I am also the CEO of United Vows Officiating Services; we provide engaged couple with the nuptials and venue to have a marriage ceremony. I specialize in teaching individuals the power of their voice and strengthening their communication skills. I’m known for my big personality and out-spoken voice to things that are negative. I’m also known for my advocacy for the community and family, as an advocate I assist families in the community that are need. I am most proud of mentoring youth through the Kellys Kids Foundation, children that have lost their parents. I am set apart from others based on my genuine love for my people, my community and seeking ways to show that love through consistent support and resources.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe you don’t truly live life without taking risks. I feel bad for people who wait for things to be perfect or all in order to go after dreams. The reality is risk-taking is a superpower! The more risk you take the more fear you overcome and the more opportunities will come your way. A life without risk is a risky life. I have taken a ton of risks, especially as an entrepreneur! I left my job after working for there for 12 years to start my own business. The ability to look at any risk whether calculated or random is a catalyst to most people’s success.
