Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayat Sleymann.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It was in middle school that I found my passion for health and nutrition. In fact, I remember the exact seat I was sitting in when I learned about the importance of nutrition and food and how it affects our health.
I quickly fell in love with anything nutrition related and would spend hours reading magazines, books, anything I can get my hands on that deepened my knowledge.
Naturally, I decided to become a Registered Dietitian and ended up completing 3 degrees in the field.
But it was after becoming a mom myself that I knew I needed to take my expertise and help other moms.
With all my education and experience, I was having a very hard time losing weight and prioritizing my health after becoming a mom. My energy was at an all-time low after giving birth to my 2 beautiful children because I was simply exhausted and fell out of touch with myself.
After a few years of living in a daze, I decided to create a plan to balance motherhood while finding the time and energy to take care of my body and lose the weight that had creeped on from years of stress and overwhelm.
I took everything I knew about the body and food and created my signature program and started sharing as much knowledge as I can on social media (mainly Instagram and TikTok).
In the past three years I’ve been recognized as one of the top dietitians to follow on social media, was featured in Good Morning America, and contributed to different brands like MyFitnessPal, EatingWell, Poosh, PopSugar, Chobani, Kodiak Cakes. and much more.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Till this day, I still feel like there is so much to learn. Doubt and imposter syndrome do creep up every once in a while but I have learned to quiet those voices and stay consistent with my mission – which is to help moms prioritize their health and lose weight (if that is their goal) so they can be the best version of themselves for themselves and their families.
As you know, we’re big fans of Sleymann Nutrition, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Registered Dietitian in private practice specializing in helping moms lose weight without dieting or deprivation. The program I offer takes into consideration a mom’s busy life. I believe that you can lose weight without cutting out ANY foods or food groups and that is reflected in my message across all of my messaging.
I also consider myself a content creator and an influencer which is my favorite way of utilizing my creativity and connecting with other moms. I also create content for brands to help spread awareness and share my love for specific products that align with my values.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I will continue growing my influence and my blog over the next 5-10 years. I absolutely love being on camera, creating content and sharing my knowledge with other moms. I also love working with brands and using my expertise to share amazing products.
I will also be creating a membership site for moms that want to lose weight, get healthy, connect with other moms in the same boat and be held accountable to their goals.
