Rising Stars: Meet Bradley Piri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradley Piri. 

Bradley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My photography career started nontraditionally. While I was attending the University of Toledo for music education, we were encouraged to purchase camera in order to record our lessons for licensure. So, I purchased a Canon SL1 (approximately $799 at the time), and decided that I was going to make the most out of this investment and learn how to more than just press the shutter button and hit record. 7 years later, here I am photographing full-time. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road for me. There were times that I would have to strategically plan how to miss bills and rent, in order to get gas and eat. 

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in portraiture and storytelling. I’m most proud of my way to capture the true essence of the subjects I photograph. Something that sets me apart is that I’m not afraid to photograph anything or anyone. Quinces, bar mitzvahs, weddings – you name it; I’m there. 

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was getting Fruit Stripe gum from Walmart with my dad. It was one of the nicest memories I have of him.
