Hidden Gems: Meet Brooke Widener of Bee’s Consulting Firm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Widener.

Hi Brooke, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I’ve always had an appreciation for the oddities of life; insects being at the top of the list! In 2017, I combined my passion for insects and farming to start Bee’s Consulting Firm.

I was born and raised in East Tennessee. In 2015, I packed up my few belongings, said farewell to all of my family and friends, and moved to a state I’d never been to before: Michigan! I wanted to follow my desire to become a farmer, live with the land, and find peace in a simpler lifestyle.

I am self-taught in pest management and regenerative farming practices. I’ve been very fortunate throughout my cannabis journey to be able to work with many top leaders in the industry! One of these collaborations won 1st place at a World High Times Cannabis Cup!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My entrepreneurial journey has been heavily sprinkled with challenges throughout the years. These challenges range from self-doubt, my propensity to be shy, and the endless sacrifices it takes to always be progressing in your craft.  Every challenge that has occurred (regardless of whether it was a win or a loss) has taught me that dreams will become reality if you face each day with ambition and courage!

As you know, we’re big fans of Bee’s Consulting Firm. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Bee’s Consulting Firm specializes in creating State-Compliant Integrated Pest Management Programs for the Cannabis Industry. We apply our 7 years of hands-on experience, knowledge, and passion to help our clients prevent or mitigate pest pressures in cultivation environments extending from indoor, greenhouse, and outdoor production. We teach our clients that IPM is a lifestyle! Integrated Pest Management practices are a broad category of cultivation strategies.

A solid IPM program is the foundation of all successful operations.

I developed and currently implement the IPM program at LightSky Farms (36 High Time Cannabis Cup Awards) Founded by Shannon Walters.
