Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandee Gibson.
Hi Mandee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Mandee’s Funtastic Play Center, LLC is an indoor playground center, and we offer Open Play throughout the week and host private parties on the weekends. We opened our doors back in June 2021, after taking over as new ownership. Originally, I was an employee here before the business was forced to shut down due to Covid-19. Over the time that it was shut down, the opportunity arose to buy the business and I did everything I could to make sure we were the ones to open back up. I loved my job here and missed seeing all the families that would come in and play. We changed the name, worked hard to get everything up and going and were so eager to see all of our friends and families again. We are now a family owned and operated business and we want everyone who comes in to feel like they are a part of our family as well. These past nine months have been amazing and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for us and our company.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been a few bumps in the road (literally) when opening. Our whole road was closed down and made into a one way because of construction. It wouldn’t have been so bad, but we are surrounded by a railroad yard with trains who sit on the tracks for a very long period of time throughout the whole day.
The construction has knocked out things like our power, gas (heat), phone, internet, and point of sale lines, and our water. The trains made it hard for our guests to come or leave here as well with the one way and backed up traffic.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are an indoor playground center with a large soft play area and a two story padded playscape. Our Cafe offers a great place to relax or to enjoy a nice snack/small meal as well.
We offer drop in play throughout the week and host private parties on the weekends plus many other fun activities throughout the year.
We take pride in making sure everyone who walks through the door feels like they are walking into a safe, clean, and friendly environment for their entire family.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
There are lots of plans to grow our business, but we aim to still be the same play/party place for families to come to and have fun while being safe.
Pricing:
- Open Play: Walking children are $10 and Crawling children are $5 for all day play. Each child may also have up to two free adults with them ($5/extra adult).
