Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Stefan Danner.
Hi Carmen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Weddings are one of the truest representations of love between two people. To pursue my love of weddings and my dedication to helping others, I became a certified wedding planner in October 2009. I became a licensed wedding officiant with All Seasons Weddings in 2017 and got one step closer to my dream. To date, I have performed 150 weddings and love them more and more each time. In 2018 I had the opportunity to purchase an existing event planning business. I spent the next year establishing the business through advertising, trade shows, and social media. Then came COVID and we all know what that has meant for many, not only the event and entertainment industries. I am beyond grateful to the clients who were still able to engage my services for their weddings. I look forward to resuming “normal” business and continuing to bring peoples’ celebration dreams to reality, especially in the beautiful wine region of Windsor and Essex County.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is a huge misconception that event planners and decorators are unaffordable. My goal is to put the couple at ease and work with them – and their budget – to realize their dream. They can sit back and enjoy their special day, knowing that I have everything under control. The latest challenge has been trying to continue some form of business while dealing with the restrictions and health and safety concerns brought on by COVID. Staying on top of the changing guidelines and restrictions has allowed me to keep moving forward.
We’ve been impressed with DreamIt Event Planning Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a full- or partial-service wedding/event planning firm. I am also a licensed wedding officiant in the province of Ontario as well as a certified sommelier. We also provide decor consultation and service for your event. In short, whether you wish to have us handle everything – all of the planning and decor and the ceremony – or if you want to do all of the leg work and have us handle the day of your celebration only, we are here for you.
We cater to all lifestyles and all budgets.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
My phone is full of so many mediation and affirmation apps I sometimes can’t keep them straight or decide which one to use at any given time. But they have all been helpful to get me through the struggles and challenges and self-doubt.
