Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaden Rossini.
Hi Jaden, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Originally from Saginaw MI, I moved to Detroit a little over two years ago for school. I currently attend Wayne State University for Fashion Merchandising and have been pursuing a career in the fashion industry. I have always been interested in fashion since middle school, starting with sneakers and streetwear. I started a small reselling business in high school flipping coveted, limited sneakers. It wasn’t much, but it helped me fall in love with the fashion culture even more and made me want to delve deeper. In my senior year of high school, I was very passionate about my love for fashion and knew that I would not forgive myself I didn’t at least try to follow my dreams. Since moving to Detroit, I have fallen in love with the city and its creativity. I have met many amazing and creative people that have continued to push me to follow my passion. My love of fashion grew even more as did my knowledge being in school. I wanted somewhere to share my excitement for fashion, and so I decided to do so the only way I knew how. I started to post my love of fashion on my social media including my Instagram and TikTok. Doing so I am able to help people with styling and curating a personal wardrobe of their own. Most importantly I get to share my knowledge and passion with like-minded, creative people. I am currently working on a couple personal projects including a curated digital store as well as creating my own pieces to share with the world. I am very excited for the future and excited to see where my fashion journey goes.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been all sunshine and rainbows. There have been many times where I rethink my decision to pursue a career in fashion and am worried about my future. These are struggles for every college student though. I think having small life crises in your 20s is just a rite of passage at this point.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As of right now, I am focusing on curating fashion content on both Instagram and TikTok. I create videos and post pictures sharing fashion knowledge as well as providing styling advice. My posts are also meant to inspire others creatively and to explore fashion as an art medium. I have always pushed people to explore different outfits and to try and push the boundaries of dress. Helping people develop their own personal styles brings me immense joy and is what I am most proud of. As previously stated, I am currently working on both a small curated online store and creating a small brand that represents who I am as a creative. I will be hosting pop-ups in the near future for both the store as well as the brand in Eastern Market.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have had many people in my life that have inspired me and pushed me. Some people to specifically mention are my girlfriend Lashelle, one of my best friends Clay, my good friend Nicole, and my own mom, I have had countless other friends and family that have supported me, but I would not be where I was today without these people. They have each inspired me in different ways and continue to support me in any way possible, I would not be posting my content on Instagram or TikTok if it wasn’t for Nicole and how much she pushed me to put myself out there. I would not be creating my own line if it wasn’t for my girlfriend Lashelle helping me with designs and brainstorming new ideas with me. I would not be pushing myself so hard if it wasn’t for Clay and his work ethic that inspires me every day. I definitely would not even believed in myself if it wasn’t for my mom always supporting me and believing I’m destined for greatness.
