Hi Phadelya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Always knew I wanted a career in fashion. Originally it was to become a Buyer. After years of internships, Test shoots & collabs with local creatives. My Eye for putting looks together stuck. Later on, I debuted as a Stylist in 2013 at Cobo Hall; downtown Detroit. It was a Fashion Showcase Called “Styliste”. I was featured in the metro times from that showcase and everything really took off from there. However, I went to college for Fashion Marketing & Merchandising. There is where I gained all of my knowledge, OG perspective, and expertise. Besides my creative abilities, I’m known to be very resourceful in my community.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Man, it’s been a though one. And long one & to be honest I’m still searching for the silver lining. It’s to be continued. There has been days I wanted to pack up & go to LA or NYC. But I love my city.
Being Based in Detroit and believing that I can make my dreams come true in my city has been the hardest part. Detroit has so much talent and lack of opportunities. To say the least, I’ve been blessed to have opportunity and support through this journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Well. I’m a Wardrobe Stylist & Creative Director currently specializing in Menswear. I’m known for my ability to fuse masculine and feminine trends with a modern flare. I also specialize in consulting with emerging fashion brands developing concepts, apparel sourcing & creative direction for projects.
I am most proud of my genius (Kanye moment) lol and my trend forecasting abilities. It’s like I have fashion Psychic powers. No but seriously. This is my superpower for sure. It’s speaks for me and through me. It’s God’s promise to me and I’m motivated by that every single day. That is what sets me apart from General population. In Any Room, imma come out on Top!!! I believe that 100%
