Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Gonzalez.
Hi Megan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It all began back in 2017, I was experiencing acne at the age of 23. I never really understood why it was happening to me because I always had clear skin. I went to multiple different dermatologist and they all told me the same thing. It was hormonal acne. I was being prescribed different types of medication to use and after using them for a couple months, nothing was working for me. My skin was getting so bad, it affected my confidence and self-esteem. I was calling off of work, I didn’t wanna be seen in public, I was becoming depressed. After feeling so hopeless, I took it upon myself to research about the skin, about acne, and home remedies that might work for me. I spent long hours a day learning about the skin and it became an obsession. From there, I decided to get into the Esthetics program. That’s when I knew I wanted to come out with my own skincare line. In 2019, I completed the 9-month program, after that, I started my career at Skinphorea where I became an acne specialist and learned so much. Skin became my passion. I wanted to help others that were going through the exact same thing I went through. I wanted to come out with products that will actually work and people will see results from. I turned my dreams into a reality and that’s when FaceIt Skincare was brought to life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely not a smooth road, at all. From being in school to starting my career, building clientele, and launching my skincare line, I faced a lot of challenges and struggles along the way. This new chapter in my life, entrepreneurship was definitely not what I was expecting. I knew it was not going to be easy but I didn’t think it was going to be as challenging as it is. Back when I was in the program, I was struggling financially. Almost dropping out halfway in, second-guessing myself then I started getting distracted and losing that motivation to follow through with my dreams. After only working as an esthetician for a couple months, I let doubt take over and I ended up taking a year off and went back into the cooperate world. I noticed I was not happy and realized I made the wrong decision so I ended up trusting my gut and got right back into it like I never left. That’s when I really went hard by building my clientele and working on launching my skincare line. I was working 2 jobs back-to-back, getting off at one job then heading straight to the other one. I was doing this while being a single mother. Constantly getting babysitters, getting 3 hours of sleep a night, and trying to balance everything. I was doing everything on my own and it was rough but I had to remember my ‘WHY’ and that kept me going. When I launched my business in September 2021, it was a successful launch, but that didn’t mean the work was over. I still find myself second-guessing when I go a few days without a sale, but I realized that is a part of the process. You have to be okay with failing in order to become successful. Everybody has their own path at their own time. I went through being broke, doubting myself, procrastination, wanting to giving up, changing my mind a million times but I am thankful for the struggles because it molded me into the woman I am today and businesswoman I am destined to be.

You know, I don’t necessarily believe in luck. I believe FAITH, HARD WORK AND CONSISTENCY plays the importance in life and in business. I believe in manifesting what you want in life and it will come to you. Anything is possible, anybody is capable, you just have to have Faith, work hard and stay consistent.
