Hi Tonie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I have always had a passion for being creative and in 2018 I decided to launch my business out of the need wanting to be more fulfilled. I decided to begin renting event decor primarily large throne chairs to graduating seniors on their prom day. When the pandemic hit like everyone else my business was essentially halted.

During the pandemic, I suffered through the tragedy of losing my dad and other loved ones, and to keep my mind focused I begin to brainstorm on how I could expand my business and I decided to open an event studio where I could host events and still offer my decor rentals in one centralized place this is where Sitting Pretty Event Studio was launched in 2021.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In 2018, I was off to great start business was doing well. However, my target market was primarily high school seniors which caused my business to experience seasonal peaks. Therefore, some months were better than others. In 2020, at the onset of the pandemic, I lost my dad and other love ones this was a very devastating time for me.

To regain focus I begin to ponder on how I could expand my business and decided to launch Sitting Pretty Event Studio in 2021 and dedicated the grand opening to my dad.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Sitting Pretty Event Studio is a full-service luxurious intimate event venue located at 38950 Cherry Hill Rd. Westland, MI 48185. Our venue specializes in intimate gatherings and currently can accommodate up to 60 guests.

What sets us apart from others is our beautiful venue, from the glossy white walls, attractive clear infinity chairs, 2 beautifully hung chandeliers, hardwood floors, open floor layout, large kitchenette, an abundance of parking, and most of all our cleanliness.

Nowadays, there is more focus on small intimate gatherings and we have crafted the perfect venue to host these types of events. I am most proud of our reputation of giving back to our community and always exceeding customer expectations.

We pride ourselves on being a multiuse facility we offer ballroom classes and yoga classes (coming 2022). Our current class offerings can be found on our website sittingprettyvenue.com.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a wife and mother of two boys. I enjoy giving back to my community I have partnered with a local non-profit organization and created my 1st Annual Toy Drive. I also work with a local food bank to deliver Thanksgiving meals to the less fortunate and often participate in marching for causes such as breast cancer and premature babies.
