Inspiring Conversations with Georgina Jones of Love Jonez Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgina Jones. 

Hi Georgina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a mom of not one, but two preemies, I wasn’t pregnant long enough to get professional maternity photos taken. I also didn’t get to take any newborn photos of my oldest son, though I did get some of my youngest at the hospital — and they sat on a disk for YEARS before I finally decided to print them and create a photo album. 

Missing out on capturing those first memories of my firstborn son snowballed into my unhealthy obsession with snapping countless pics of my boys to place in my scrapbooks. Eventually, I evolved from a full-blown “mamarazzi” to an experienced photographer who has mastered the art of capturing the raw beauty and imperfections of everyday family life. 

One of my favorite subjects is children because I love finding creative ways to capture their true essence. My style is not to direct but allow each child the freedom to let their personality shine while I get the perfect shot. 

Being a mom of two growing boys has shown me how quickly time flies. Your little ones only stay little for so long, and I know how it feels to miss capturing those priceless moments. That’s why I’m so passionate about providing quality photos and heirlooms for moms and their babies. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have definitely been roadblocks, from the mom guilt of not spending enough time with my family due to working a full-time job in Corporate America, while trying to grow a photography business to imposter syndrome. I realized I needed to say no to things that don’t bring me joy so niched down and focused solely on shooting expecting moms, newborns, and little ones. I also stopped following local photographers and trying to keep up with new trends, and instead, shifted my focus to creating an amazing experience for my clients. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Love Jonez Photography?
I am a full-service photographer, committed to creating a custom, quality experience for expecting moms and their growing families. My greatest joy is capturing priceless moments and helping families turn them into timeless memories with my collection of family heirloom portraits and products. 

The LJP experience starts with a design consult; I start with the end in mind and ask about how my clients want to display the images in their home and will often coordinate the session with a specific area in their home in mind. 

I also offer wardrobe styling, so no need to stress over trying to find the perfect outfit. My main priority is to create a relaxed, comfortable environment while making sure my clients look and feel spectacular. 

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
As the youngest daughter of two teachers, I developed an early love of reading. And if I’m being honest, I was very nosey, or should I say, curious about everything.
