Daily Inspiration: Meet Steven Komlody

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Komlody. 

Hi Steven, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my professional career as a metal drummer in 1997 playing gothic industrial metal in a band called Blofelt and then moved into the realm of death metal in a band called Hellbent for many years until reforming into metalcore band Lies Within. After playing in a cover babd for a while in 2016, I went on to play in another Industrial metal project called Two Dead Roses until joining a deathcore band called Twysted Asylum in 2017-2019 when myself and fellow bandmates Texas Heat, The Doktor, and Deathslinger formed Black Tar Superstar which got signed to Kingside Records in February of 2021 releasing our first full-length album called the Black Flame which has sold 100s of copies and over 6,000 downloads. After signing to Terror Crew Productions management company for the band management, I was asked by the CEO Gabe Saldivar to become a manager for a Terror Crew Productions Ohio/Nebraska and now managing 3 bands across the country. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The only struggles I’ve endured across my 20+ career is staying relevant as a performer and solidifying my Reaper Brand. 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a professional Drummer/musician with 11 studio albums, multiple indie tours, and professional band manager/PR/Marketer and podcaster 

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Never give up on your dream no matter how tough it gets and no matter how many people tell you you cannot reach your goals. if it’s what you love and it’s what you want to do nothing can stop you from achieving that goal! never put no in your heart always say yes and keep forging forward because dreams do come true and if you have a dream worth fighting for there’s nothing that can stop you from fulfilling it.
