Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Wyant.
Hi Sierra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a child, I was always inspired to own my own business. My family had owned a few small businesses of their own, which gave me the motivation and persistence to do the same. Once I started school to become an Esthetician, I knew these would be the skills needed to bring my long-term vision to reality. During school, I began facing challenging moments that could have held me back from pursing my dreams. Needless to say, I was pregnant as well as dealing with an unhealthy relationship. I felt as I was being tested on all levels mentally, emotionally, & physically. But I knew this was my purpose, so no matter what battles I was facing I kept prevailing forward. After six long, sleepless, overwhelmed, & determined months I graduate! Five months pregnant and all. Of course, after graduation, I still had one final step … State Exams! During this final step, I was yet again faced with more challenges, I had just gave birth to my daughter adjusting to becoming a first-time mother as well as having to take care of my grandfather as his final days were approaching. At this very moment, it’s like I lost site to everything. I became unfocused, unmotivated, just LOST! I gave myself time to regroup; taking the state exam three times before passing. I still remember seeing “PASS” that third time and feeling reassured that no matter the obstacles this is my purpose & I will prevail! Once I became a Licensed Esthetician, I figured it only made sense to get a job first in the field to gain some knowledge and experience. Being an esthetician is so broad there are so many skills to learn. So, I wanted to detect what I liked. I believe what flows in you is for you! I got a waxing job and fell in love with the skill, I also gained much more knowledge and experience at the job I was working at. Unfortunately, after 10 months we departed ways, I didn’t feel that was my happy place nor was I making the money I knew I was worth. Working for a corporation showed me it was time to start working towards opening my own shop. During the pandemic that’s what I did, I began researching giving all my free time to developing a business plan and vision. By working under a corporation, I was able to learn how I wanted to connect with my guest, the type of quality in services I would provide, and the importance of quality vs quantity. I value quality, that’s why when opening my shop, I was patient and organized. I took in consideration how I would like to feel when I get pampered and reciprocate that for my guest. After months I completed my business plan and used that to get me started. I had no capital just started! During the pandemic I found a space and began renovating it; again, no savings just hard-earned cash, blood, sweat, tears, faith & belief. I remember feeling worried because some steps I didn’t know what was next I just began to pray & followed the steps in my business plan. After months of renovations and hard work in March 2021, I opened my 1st establishment Divine Luxury Body Bar! My most rewarding accomplishment to date because I was definitely tested on all levels from, friendships/relationships, personal growth, my spirituality, life, self-doubt, finances, you name it! Through my trials and tribulations, I could have gave up when I had every excuse but what good of a story would that have been?
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As I mentioned I was tested on all levels, my hardest obstacles were things I couldn’t control. Having to deal with losing a very close loved one in the midst of trying to make them proud was emotionally one of the hardest things I still deal with because I just wanted to make my grandpa proud, I wanted him to experience this milestone of accomplishments with me. As well as not having any capital to start my process. My faith and vision got me started. There were many sleepless, fearful nights because failure seemed closer than success at those moments. The thought of not knowing what was next; self-doubt was mentally my most challenging obstacle as well. Once I began to accept things I couldn’t control and focused on the positive it’s like everything began falling in place at Divine timing!

How do you think about happiness?
I am happiest when I’m serving my divine sisters and brothers! I love building connections and growing with my clients. Most of my clients have been following me from my first job, to my house, & now the spa. It’s been rewarding to work with those guests because they got to witness my devotion to not just them but my brand. They’ve watched it all unfold and love to watch me grow as an entrepreneur. Also being able to have my daughter by my side through the entire process. She comes to work with my every day I built a play room so she could be comfortable as mommy works. She’s even to the point she’s ready to join the team! She loves being an assistant some days watching me work some days she’s over it! But having the opportunity to have her witness my hard work so she can have a better life is a gratifying feeling!
