Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Ryan.
Hi Paige, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started because I had dropped out of every institution of higher learning. I left Michigan state and tried Oakland County Community College. I ended up being pregnant with my daughter and I knew I needed to stability. So, I sat with myself and looked over everything I had a passion for. To try and figure out a career. In that I ended up at Paul Mitchell The School Michigan due to a stylist I looked up to, showing me all the things, I could do outside of owning my own salon. For years I still worked two jobs, part in salon and part in Assisted living until my job at an Assisted Living Facility impeded on my growth at the salon… so l left. It’s was at that salon I was working when I created Seamless By PaigeRyan in 2017. I wanted a business that supported my ideas about hair and hair extensions. I believe every woman should be Seamless. Their extensions should be flawless. My ability to install hair extensions flawlessly that had no line of demarcation, that looked natural and beautiful at any length we’re able to be versatile. To this day, these ideas are still the heart of Seamless By PaigeRyan.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, this road has not been smooth. But it has been smoother than many stylist I’ve known through years. I’ve always to been blessed to have someone in my life to drop seeds of positivity or show me the way. I’ve had support. That’s one thing that God has down for me. No matter where I worked, I’ve was in an environment of love. And because I worked with stylist who were seasoned in the energy, they were willing to teach me new techniques. Other’s ways to get to my desired results. They saw something in me and wanted me to succeed genuinely. My struggles over the years dealt with my self-confidence in myself. And because I questioned my ability constantly or always compared myself to other people in the industry, I was distracted. So, when I should have been honing in my skills. Focusing and developing skills set and esthetic, I was too busy trying to be like other stylist and not myself. I regret that to this day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So, I pretty much do it all in salon. Primarily, natural hair, color, extensions, and wig making. I’m also a bridal hairstylist. However, I’m most known for extensions and wig making. And now adding bridal hair to my resume. It’s something I’m extremely proud of because I knew entering in Cosmetology school, I wanted to specialize in extensions. And over these ten years, it’s developed into wig making as well. I’ve been a wigmaker for about 8 years now. And to see how much that sector of my business had grown is amazing.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe my faith in God and my professionalism and huge proponents of my success. To this day clients are referred to me, not only because of my skill set, but my professionalism.
