Meet Jess Crosby of Delight In Designs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess Crosby. Them and their team share their story with us below:

“A house is not a home until your story is attached to it” is Jessica’s mantra, she is passionate about truly knowing her clients, how they function in their space while sprinkling special touches of flair throughout her design. Being trained by the New York Art Institute has given Jessica the expertise to capture your style. We started Delight In Designs because everyone deserves to have a space they love “love your home” is in the fabric of who we are. We set out to be all things home for West Michigan and that is becoming reality, our community is entrusting us with their home to make it better and we are loving every second of it! 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have high expectations, with that comes a vetting process to become part of our team that is one to aspire to! From the shopkeeper all the way to our top project manager, we make sure we have the right fit for us and most importantly the right fit for our customers, it took a while to get there, but we have finally landed on the right team to take us into 2022 embracing growth and in keeping with our “little shop” integrity. 

We’ve been impressed with Delight In Designs, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Whether shopping our boutique showroom for a new piece for your mantle, working with our interior designers to refresh a room, or partnering with us for a total daydream-to-construction renovation, we hear your vision and make it completely yours. We make interior design feel like working with a friend and make sure you are left feeling… at home. 

It sounds cliché but it is in our people that make us stand out, we do what we say and we hold true to our promise – that isn’t always the norm when it comes to remodel/design. We’re seeking to change the industry in an authentic way. 

If you are seeking to stage your home for sale, looking to upgrade your newly purchased home, or looking at building your forever home; we guide you with intention in purpose taking the worry out of the process and making it FUN! 

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
There is no such thing as networking too much! However, I do think it is important to pick a few networking groups and “do” those well! Be consistent, start being seen as the “go-to expert” in your field and watch the magic happen! Follow through on your deliverables, ensure your clients are delighted and you will do well. 

People love to help people… if you are seeking a mentor, just ASK! I found the best mentor when I was first starting out, she has no idea the impact she has had on me and my business – I probably need to share that with her! She was stern in her advice “Don’t do “free”” she said – I thought I had to give my services away to get started, she pointed me the complete opposite and she was right, people do not value “free” they value…a good value!
