Conversations with Darieon McCreary

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darieon McCreary. 

Darieon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m JumpmanSosa and music started for me young in the church growing up with my grandmother I became the drummer at the church with music already being in my family bloodline full of singers musicians. Growing up I would sneak and watch rap from here or there or here it with friends and other family members and I seen how certain rappers use their platform of rap to tell their stories. I listen to biggie and Tupac a lot Lil Wayne Jay Z and more but them was my favorite coming up. Around middle school when I moved back with my dad cuz I went back and forth a lot between him and my grandma I started to write stuff I was going thru with girls mostly cuz I was a lover boy and was told how good I was writing music that I did so young around high school time I transferred over towards more of what I was going thru still just doing it for the love of music it. It wasn’t till 2018 my hit song “ Back 2 Work “ Caught a lil buzz in my city of Cleveland and I thought to start taking music seriously also with more tragic life-changing moments such as losing my cousin Calvin “Scotty185” Chappell in 2019 when I said I had to make this happen and keep his name and legacy alive and door started opening up such as doing a tour in Ohio performing at boosie block party for his bash he have every year to radio appearances Headlining Interviews doing songs with some big-time artist also singing with EBE Entertainment 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. If I had to say why??? It’s because the city I come from Cleveland OH which is a city that rates you off your popularity not who you are or can bring to the table in my opinion also because of my movement what and who it stands for and the story behind it. Also, just life people look at us as artists and forget that we are still regular people with kids and family’s too for those who do have one and real-life struggles still happen. Also losing all my music and in the beginning you look at your number and you know yo talent so when you not get the flowers you deserve it make you wanna quit but instead I more just held back on dropping music. Also not having the funds like everybody I when I first started 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Musician/Artist. I have so many other gifts God has blessed me but I chose this one because it’s just always been a part of my life since a baby. My specialty is writing I love writing my own music. I’m known for being a drummer in the church and basketball and electrical cuz them things I been doing since a kid along with music what sets me apart from the others is I have my own unique sound and style of how I deliver my messages and story I want the world to hear 

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
It’s a lot of people I owe credit to my dad my mom cuz without them I wouldn’t be here my dad a lil more cuz we went thru everything together and always being my dad first before a friend which taught me how to be a man. My grandparents for always taking care of me and making sure I didn’t have a rougher childhood than I was already having and never turning their backs on me despite of and supporting whatever I did even if it had to be from a distance. My managers Dame and Ghost (ya ya) for believing and investing in me as well as my cousin Javon (blingturnup) and brother Tae (themudchild) for investments in my studio time my family and friends for their support and not letting me give up even when time got hard
