Inspiring Conversations with Omar Al Hadithi of OWS Television

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omar Al Hadithi.

Omar , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story started in Iraq, where my passion for art, technology, and media began at an early age. I started with drawing and painting, and later expanded into sculpture, computer graphics, animation, and design. Over the years, I created many paintings and sculptures and participated in art exhibitions, but eventually my professional focus shifted more toward media while art remained an important part of my life.
I built a career in media, particularly in television directing and production, working with many television channels, media organizations, and creative companies. Over the years, I also founded and helped establish several media and arts organizations and projects.
After moving to the United States, I continued my work in media, art, and technology. I later moved to Michigan, where I established a television station, founded an association for expatriate media professionals, and organized and supported many cultural and artistic events, using media to promote artists and give greater visibility to their work.
Today, my main focus is media and technology, while I still remain connected to art and continue creating when I can. I also decided to return to college and pursue another area that has interested me for many years: politics. I see it as a new chapter in a journey that has always been about creating, learning, and exploring new directions.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but I see the challenges more as experiences that shaped my journey. Growing up in Iraq during years of war and political instability taught me early how quickly life and circumstances can change.
After the war, I lived in and moved through several countries, and each experience introduced me to different cultures, people, and ways of life. Eventually, my journey brought me to the United States, and that became one of the most important turning points in my life. America opened many doors for me and gave me opportunities to grow professionally, develop new ideas, and explore directions that might not have been possible before.
Of course, every new beginning comes with challenges, especially when adapting to a new country and rebuilding your professional network, but for me those challenges became part of the experience. Looking back, each stage added something different and helped shape where I am today.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
OWS Television is a 24-hour Arabic-language television station that I established in Michigan, broadcasting live to audiences around the world with a focus on Middle Eastern communities. The station brought together journalists and media professionals from different countries, with correspondents in several locations around the world.
Our programming includes cultural, historical, and artistic content, coverage of community events and activities, and programs that provide useful information and services to Arab and Middle Eastern communities. OWS has also produced talk shows covering public affairs and political issues related to Iraq and the Middle East.
What I’m most proud of is building a television station from the ground up and bringing together media professionals from different parts of the world to contribute their experience and ideas. OWS has also given us the opportunity to support artists, highlight cultural work, and give community stories and voices greater exposure.
Beyond OWS Television, I also founded an association for expatriate media professionals, which was officially registered here in the United States. The idea was to bring media professionals living abroad together, build stronger professional connections, and create opportunities for collaboration.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I don’t really have one specific book or podcast that I follow. I’ve always been curious and tend to explore different resources depending on what I’m interested in or working on. In addition to my interests in media, art, and technology, I have a strong interest in philosophy and history. I enjoy reading thinkers such as Friedrich Nietzsche and Ibn Khaldun, and I’ve always been fascinated by the ideas of classical philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.
In recent years, artificial intelligence has also become especially important to me. I’m very interested in its rapid development and the possibilities it is creating across creative and professional fields, as well as everyday life.
