Today we’d like to introduce you to Stormie Anderson.
Hi Stormie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
For Stormie Anderson, RN, House of Contour was never supposed to be just another med spa.
It was supposed to be a place where transformation happened.
Not simply the kind of transformation captured in a before-and-after photo, but the kind that happens when a woman begins recognizing herself again. When someone who has struggled with their weight finally feels hopeful. When a client walks through the door lacking confidence and eventually leaves standing a little taller.
For Stormie, confidence has always started within.
From the Bedside to Business Ownership
Long before becoming an entrepreneur, Stormie was a nurse. Her years in healthcare gave her an intimate look at what happens when health is neglected, particularly in communities where education, resources, preventative care, and access aren’t always equal.
She saw patients living with conditions that were often connected to obesity and poor metabolic health. But she also understood something that numbers on a chart couldn’t explain: weight is personal.
Behind the number on the scale can be stress, motherhood, menopause, demanding careers, emotional eating, medications, health conditions, lack of support, or simply years of putting everyone else first.
That understanding would eventually become the foundation for House of Contour.
In 2021, Stormie took the leap from nurse to entrepreneur and created a business centered around helping people improve their health, appearance, and confidence.
What began as a vision quickly became something much bigger.
Building More Than a Med Spa
Stormie didn’t want clients to walk into House of Contour, receive a treatment, and simply walk back out.
She wanted to create an experience and a community.
As the business evolved, so did the vision.
House of Contour expanded its focus to include medically guided weight management, aesthetics, body contouring, wellness services, fitness, education, and accountability. Eventually, the business grew into a 3,400-square-foot Detroit location complete with treatment rooms, a gym and sauna—bringing multiple pieces of the wellness journey under one roof.
But the square footage isn’t what Stormie is most proud of.
It’s the people.
House of Contour has served thousands of clients, and Stormie has watched clients achieve transformations that once seemed impossible. Some have lost significant amounts of weight. Others have improved their relationship with their health. Some simply walked into the building wanting to change their body and discovered a confidence they hadn’t felt in years.
Those are the moments that continue to remind Stormie why she started.
“The weight loss may get people’s attention, but the confidence tells the real story.”
When the Mission Became Bigger Than Business
As House of Contour grew, Stormie realized that simply operating a successful business wasn’t enough.
She wanted to create impact.
That meant building community around wellness instead of only selling services.
From weight-loss accountability communities and educational events to wellness conversations, scholarships, fitness activities, women’s gatherings, and community outreach, House of Contour began becoming a place where people could receive something that couldn’t be placed inside a syringe or treatment room: support.
Stormie has become especially passionate about creating conversations around health topics that people often avoid until something goes wrong.
Her philosophy is simple: education can change decisions, and changed decisions can change lives.
That same philosophy continues as House of Contour explores the evolving world of wellness, including conversations surrounding metabolic health, peptides, healthy aging, women’s wellness, aesthetics, and preventative lifestyle habits.
For Stormie, innovation matters—but education comes first.
The Part of Entrepreneurship People Don’t See
The beautiful building, client transformations, recognition, social media following, and accomplishments tell only one side of the story.
Entrepreneurship has also required sacrifice.
There have been long days, financial decisions, staffing challenges, mistakes, growing pains, moments of uncertainty, and seasons where Stormie had to continue believing in a vision that other people couldn’t yet see.
Growth required her to evolve from being a nurse who owned a business into becoming a CEO responsible for protecting a brand, leading a team, making difficult decisions, and thinking several steps ahead.
One of the greatest lessons has been understanding that growth doesn’t always look like adding more.
Sometimes growth means setting boundaries.
Sometimes it means saying no.
Sometimes it means changing direction.
And sometimes it means protecting what you’ve built—even when doing so is uncomfortable.
Through every stage, Stormie has remained anchored to the reason she began.
Becoming the Woman She Once Prayed to Be
There is something especially meaningful about standing inside something that once existed only in your imagination.
Stormie remembers the smaller spaces.
She remembers the early days when the clientele, team, community, and resources House of Contour has today didn’t exist yet.
And she remembers believing anyway.
Today, House of Contour represents far more than the growth of a med spa. It represents what can happen when vision meets consistency.
But Stormie doesn’t view the business as finished.
In many ways, she believes it’s just beginning.
The next chapter is about expanding education, strengthening community, continuing to innovate in wellness, creating opportunities for other professionals, and building a brand whose impact reaches far beyond Detroit.
She wants House of Contour to become synonymous not simply with looking better, but with living better and feeling better.
Because after years of helping people transform, one truth continues to stand out:
People may initially come because they want to lose weight, smooth a line, contour an area, improve their skin, or change something they see in the mirror.
But underneath those requests is often something deeper.
They want to feel like themselves again.
They want confidence.
They want hope.
They want to know change is still possible.
And that is the real story of House of Contour.
It isn’t simply about aesthetics.
It isn’t simply about weight loss.
And it was never simply about building a med spa.
It is about building a place where transformation starts on the outside—but has the power to change what happens within.
Stormie Anderson, RN
Founder & CEO, House of Contour Med Spa
Detroit, Michigan
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
People see the growth, but they don’t always see what growth costs. They see the building, the clients, the recognition and the results. They don’t see the sleepless nights, financial risks, staffing challenges, difficult decisions, mistakes, sacrifices, or the moments when I questioned myself. Building House of Contour required me to become a different woman. Every obstacle forced me to become a better nurse, a stronger leader and a smarter businesswoman. I learned that success isn’t about avoiding hard seasons—it’s about refusing to let those seasons become the end of your story.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about House Of Contour Med Spa?
House of Contour Med Spa & Wellness is more than a med spa—it is a health, wellness, aesthetics, and confidence destination built around helping people become healthier while feeling more confident in the skin they’re in.
We are best known for our medically guided weight-loss programs and real client transformations, but our approach goes far beyond the number on the scale. Our services include medical weight management, body contouring, Lipo Dissolve, Botox and fillers, advanced skincare, chemical peels, microneedling, IV hydration, wellness injections, peptides, and other personalized wellness services. Our Detroit facility also incorporates a gym and sauna, allowing us to address multiple parts of the wellness journey under one roof.
What sets House of Contour apart is our emphasis on education, community, accountability, and individualized care. I never wanted to build a business where someone simply walks in, receives a service, and leaves. We want our clients to understand their options, have support throughout their journey, and feel like they are part of a community. We have created private accountability groups, fitness opportunities, educational events, wellness conversations, and community initiatives because lasting transformation often requires more than a treatment.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that House of Contour has grown without losing the heart behind why I started it. What began as a vision has grown into a 3,400-square-foot wellness facility in Detroit, serving thousands of clients and helping our community achieve significant health and confidence transformations. Yet some of my proudest moments aren’t about the size of the building or recognition we’ve received—they’re hearing a client say she feels like herself again or watching someone accomplish something with their health they once thought was impossible.
I want readers to understand that House of Contour isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about transformation. Whether someone walks through our doors wanting to lose weight, improve their skin, contour their body, explore wellness options, or simply regain their confidence, our goal is to meet them where they are and help create a realistic plan for where they want to go.
We may be known for the before-and-afters, but what happens in between those two pictures is what House of Contour is really about.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m constantly learning. Whether it’s a book, podcast, conversation, or even social media, I’m always looking for something that can make me a better leader, businesswoman, and version of myself. I believe when you stop learning, you stop growing.
